European Academies Science Advisory Council

EASAC provides a means for the national scientific academies of Europe to work together to provide high-quality, independent, science support to EU policy makers. It was established in 2001 by a small consortium of academies but now has members in each of the EU member states. There are three programme areas for its work: environment, biosciences and energy.
