SUMMER SKIN CARE TIPS It´s that time of the year when it´s too easy to forget to take special care of your skin in the extreme conditions the Algarve presents. Here are some tips to remember

o lighter on your skin. Heat and humidity mean that often we need a lighter moisturiser than in winter. Try a moisturiser that has hyaluronic acid in it. Hyaluronic acid has a lighter texture, yet still provides and protects your skin from drying out. Sunscreen is essential and a must. Even on cloudy and overcast days. The days are long, the sun is intense and it is important to protect your tender skin from harsh UV rays that create wrinkles, age spots and other signs of aging. Spf 30 is the minimum that should be used and make sure to reapply regularly. Less is better in the heat. Swap your foundation for a tinted moisturizer or tinted sunscreen and a dab of concealer. Think about switching to a waterproof mascara, apply a single quick layer. Make sure to read the labels and use only non-comedogenic products. They are formulated without poreclogging ingredients, which will save your skin from breakouts and allows it to breathe. Cleanse your skin Sweat, sunscreen, chlorine from swimming pools and salt water and sand from the beach, all are good reasons to take extra care of your skin when cleansing before bed. Wash your face right up into your hairline, this area and the outer edges of your face is prone to breakouts. Look for a cleanser with salicylic acid to unblock pores and kill off bacteria. Taking care of the surface is one thing, but make sure to hydrate from the inside too. Drink plenty of water, aim for 8-10 glasses of water a day, to keep your skin flawless and your organs healthy and happy. Eating summer fruits, high in vitamins and water content will give your skin and immune system a boost.
