Welcome to our special motoring section. As an intorduction, we speak to Wyunn, who recently moved to the Algarve after spending time travelling in a motorhome. He has now sold the motorhome, and uses his scooter to get around the East Algarve. Keep an eye out for him buzzing around the streets with his wife on the back of the bike, and his dog Smudge on the back of him!

How often do you use your scooter?

We and the dog go everywhere on our bike. There's nothing better than a ride out on a sunny day up into mountains or down to the water-front. It's made a real difference to our lives!

Really... how has owning a scooter changed your lives?

Well, we visit town nearly every morning for a coffee, we can easily nip home for lunch, work or to feed the dog, and on many occasions popped back into town in the evening.

Have you seen any financial benefits to having a scooter?

Yes, lots! No paying for parking, plus a tank of fuel gives us a full month of travelling and lots of fun!

So are there any drawbacks?

I wouldn't say so. The cost is very little, especially compared to the freedom it gives you. Maybe, if anything... the extra trips to Tavira for a cheeky ice-cream now and then could end up showing on the hips, but we make up for that with the walking we do around town.
