With width forward of center linked with rockers and foils from our highperformance shortboards, the Black Cobra paddles and handles extremely well. The Black Cobra was made to get in early like our Dreamcatcher and given additional rocker for more control and easier turning in the pocket at the higher speeds of bigger surf. Great as a step-up from the Dreamcatcher or as an everyday board for someone liking a little more rocker in this type of outline.
The Fish Paco is a high-performance twin for fast vertical surfing in small waves. A combination of the pulled-in swallowtail with a touch more rocker than what you’d see in your average small-wave board allows it to do tight arcing turns in small waves. Twin-fin placement in the front boxes makes for a very fast and drivey board that pivots easily in the pocket. We added rear boxes for greater range and control.
The original White Diamond helped define today’s small-wave performance surfboard. We refined the WD’s lower range by emphasizing and improving on its original strengths for small-wave groveling. The WD3 catches small waves even easier and flies through flat sections while still maintaining the White Diamond’s original performance approach and feel. Designed with the original rocker and added width through the nose and tail for extra volume and extra surface area, the WD3 captures the magic of the original in even smaller surf.
Short, wide, flat, and floaty make the Pool Toy a blast to ride. Full foil and outline plus flat rockers for catching really small waves and the float you need for flying down the line. Width in the tail for increased surface area helps it maintain speed while the swallowtail gives it release for turning in the pocket and out on the shoulder. Ride it really short for less rail line, sharpturning high performance. Ride it bigger for even more float and flow. The Pool Toy pictured above was made in our new RFT2 construction.

The Tuna is our traditional fish design, tweaked and updated a bit with subtle bottom contours to help create drive and performance in a huge range of conditions. It will get you through the small-wave summer doldrums and handle overhead winter swells as well. Destined to become one of the cornerstones of your quiver and built to suit each surfer, the Tuna is available as a twin-fin or a quad. Also available in epoxy or polyester construction with endless custom aesthetic options.
Designed to harness the hydrodynamic theory behind Bob Simmons’ boards from the late ‘50s, paired with some modern design theories. The parallel rails and wide tail provide more length of water line and smooth release off the tail, equaling speed. Paired with a versatile 5-fin setup and deep channel through the already deep concave, this board has unparalleled drive, speed, and maneuverability. Designed to catch waves with ease like a fish and perform like a high-performance shortboard. Available in polyurethane/polyester or EPS/epoxy construction. Custom aesthetics and color work available. Wood veneer options are also available on EPS/epoxy boards.

This high-performance board has a deep single concave and accelerated tail rocker from the front fins back through the tail. It’s for airs and carves in the pocket.
This board is an alternative design with an emphasis on high performance. It’s designed for those days when you need the board to generate speed because the waves are small and weak. It follows the simple formula of turning easy and going fast.

Andrew Doheny’s new model is short, flat, and fat with an ‘80s bump squash tail outline and 2 belly channels. Comes as a 5-fin setup and is easily the fastest board I’ve ever developed. Surfs well in anything from knee-high to head-high.
This is our new fish for 2016. It’s extremely fast and a more highperformance take on a traditional fish. It features a slimmer outline and slightly lower rails, with rolled vee entry to double concave through the fins and 2 channels leading into the outside of the fins! This is the extra spice you need for summer.

The Straws is a great traditional noserider, featuring a full nose and a big teardrop concave which will extend your tip time. The rails are 50/50 throughout and are more pinched through the nose and tail. All boards receive a volan glass job and a hand-foiled glass on fin. It’s a great board, perfect for waves knee-high to slightly overhead.

Instagram: @mcdermottshapes @blackpointsurfshop This blood thirsty shortboard thrives in chest-to head-high surf but can handle almost anything poseidon will throw at it. With a wider nose, straighter rail lines and a stepped fish tail, you can get into waves early but still make agressive turns. The El ChupacaBra has a relaxed rocker, subtle single to double concave with slight V out the tail and should be ordered a few inches shorter than your typical shortboard. Shown as a 2+1, however, this board can be set up and ridden with any fin configuration. McDERMOTTSHAPES.COM

Not completely a groveler, this highvolume design will give a competitive edge to any rider. Get one last turn out of that shorebreak closeout and get a little further outside than the rest of the crowd. Extra foam up front makes it an easy paddler and helps transition through flat spots. Single to double concave. Spring specialist great for both nor’easters and mellower days on tropical travel. Great for small to medium surf.
