By Mufti Jaseemuddin Qasmi | Coordinator, Online Darul Ifta www.maarkazulmaarif.org Email: jaseemuddinq@gmail.com Bank interest money in income tax I am a government employee. I have to pay income tax to the government. I also get sometimes interest money on my deposits in the bank. So can I pay income tax with this money? In the same way, if someone takes insurance policy to save himself from burdensome tax, is it lawful in Islam? Anonymous, It is not permitted to be involved in any unlawful activity for saving oneself from income tax such as to take fixed deposit scheme or insurance policy. Nevertheless, if someone had deposited his money in bank for the sake of safety or taken compulsory insurance policy then it was not allowed for him to use the interest money for his own benefit but the whole interest money is worth spending as alms without the intention of reward by Allah. But if compulsory insurance policy was taken while in Government Company or rupees were deposited in governmental bank then it is allowed to pay the interest money in income tax. Is vomit pure? My child vomited on my cloth. So, my question is that vomit is pure or impure according to Shariah and is there any difference between an adult and infant in this matter. S.M Qasmi, Nepal What breaks wudhu is impure and what does not is pure. To take an example if blood crosses the place of wound or cut or if someone throws up mouthful then his ablution is broken. In both the two cases, blood and vomit are impure. If blood does not cross the place from where it came out but it just appeared or someone vomited very little, not mouthful then wudhu will not be nullified in these two cases. So, here blood and vomit would be considered pure. But Imam Muhammad (ra) says vomit and blood are impure in all the conditions. Jurisprudents say if solid-stuff such as cloth and body etc are stained by blood or vomit, one should act upon the first ruling and when blood or vomit are mixed in liquids such as water, juice etc one should act upon Imam Muhammad’s saying. [AlJoharunnaiyyarah-1/8] And there is no difference between an adult and infant in this matter.

The hadith is as follows? “ Hazrat Ali (ra) said that Allah’s messenger (saws) said: “A man when cleans his teeth by a stik (miswak) then stood up for performing salah then an angel stands up behind him listening to his recitation and then he comes close to him
