WELCOME
TO EKU THANKS FOR VISITING EASTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY! Make yourself at home. Our warm, welcoming community is part of what makes EKU such an exceptional place to learn and grow. Since our founding in 1906 (with roots dating back to 1874), EKU has jump-started the careers of hundreds of thousands of Colonels. No matter what you want to do — design video games, solve crimes through forensic science, nurse the sick and injured back to health, start your own business, fly planes, teach America’s next generation of students, or almost anything else — EKU offers more than 100 majors that will put you on a path to success. Check out the included program list to see all we offer. Also included in this guide is a map. As you use it to navigate campus, notice all the facilities and green spaces that make EKU a great place to live and learn. Recent improvements — like our stateof-the-art Science Building, suite-style residence halls and the new Case Dining Hall — alongside our stately, historic buildings, prove that EKU recognizes the value of a modern college experience, while still being proud of its rich tradition. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask your guide, or contact Admissions if you’re taking a self-guided tour.
Enjoy your visit!
INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE We work hard to keep EKU one of the best-priced 4-year schools in the region. But if you need a little help, we’ve got you. More than 80 percent of our students qualify for some form of financial assistance, and we reward academic achievement with automatic merit scholarships — no forms, no essays.

EXPERIENCE EKU We don’t do boring. With 200 student organizations, 16 NCAA Division 1 teams, a fully-equipped fitness center, as well as frequent festivals, gatherings, live performances and lectures, there’s plenty to do at EKU. Plus, downtown Richmond is just a short walk away, and some local restaurants will even let you pay with your student meal card. If that’s not enough, EKU is just a short drive to Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati and some of the best hiking and rock-climbing locations in the world.
SUCCEED We’ll give you all the tools you need to graduate on time. Students are always welcome at our Student Success Center, a one-stop shop for answers to any question you could possibly have, from financial aid and class registration, to study strategies and time management assistance. EKUGurus — specially-trained peer tutors and mentors — provide content help, test preparation guidance, mentoring and other services daily. Learn more about how we can help connect you to resources to meet your academic, personal and professional goals.
