• Students can take advantage of the many opportunities for cultural and professional development at the Bobby Verdugo and Yolo Ríos Bilingual Peer Mentor and Tutoring Center.

• The Anthropology and Animal Studies students will often take a course with the students where they go to the Primate Field School in Florida to study lemur behavior.

• The English Department placed 100% of its 2022 English and History Teaching graduates into full-time positions within at least three months of their graduation.

• Our Art and Design graduates are employed at Disney, Bullhorn Creative, Social Fly, Google and numerous other companies.

• Our Colonels at the Capitol Internship Program places students with a Kentucky legislator as they serve in the General Assembly during the spring semester.

• Our students in History, Philosophy, and Sociology engage in innovative research, working closely with our esteemed faculty experts.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM MENTORSHIP AND MEDIA IMMERSIVE OPPORTUNITIES IN CLASS

Collaborate with our expert faculty members in the Mentorship with a Psychology Professor program. Conduct research, present at conferences and submit your work for journal publication. In the School of Communication, gain valuable experience at the Eastern Progress Student Media Network. Participate in this fully student-led media network to share news with EKU’s student body.

In Animal Studies, explore wild dolphin behavior, join a lemur field school, study abroad (past locations have been in Kenya, Costa Rica, and Greece) and engage in hands-on animal enrichment courses. Embark on a comprehensive educational journey with opportunities like Study Abroad, where you can explore diverse disciplines under the guidance of CLASS faculty. Engage in hands-on learning through the Child Welfare Preparation Program (CW Prep) in our Bachelors in Social Work program. Receive in-state tuition and a stipend for up to four semesters, plus a two-year guaranteed position at the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services in Protection and Permanency. Additionally, elevate your academic experience by participating in the nationally-recognized Mock Trial program, earning upper-level course credit while traveling the country and honing your skills as both an attorney and witness. EKU’s School of Music offers the opportunity to all majors to perform with award-winning ensembles at national and international festivals.
