Post pandemic financial recovery and investment in local infrastructure
With a total expenditure of $126.8 million, the recently endorsed 2021/22 Delivery Program and Operational Plan outlines a range of initiatives which will ensure the long-term financial sustainability and benefit the Woollahra Council community.
• $125k to expand the solar system at Kiaora Place, Double Bay.
Some of the capital works project highlights include:
The COVID-19 pandemic had significant economic impacts on our budget and we are focused on addressing our financial recovery from reduced revenue and the $7.9m commitment we made to support local businesses and the community to help ease the economic burden of COVID-19.
• $4.4m for the construction of a new pedestrian plaza at Knox St, Double Bay, funded by a grant from the NSW Government’s Public Spaces Legacy Program. • $300k for the Plumer Rd, Rose Bay business centre streetscape upgrade. • $200k for the upgrade of Dillon St Reserve including landscaping and play equipment. • $192k for pathway renewal at Trumper Park • $480k for the upgrade of Cooper Park Community Hall, funded by the Australian Government Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCIP).
In addition to these projects, our $106.8m Operational Expenditure budget will fund a number of ongoing services and programs for the community including park maintenance, waste services, libraries and community events.

ACTIVE AGING
Active aging is about staying engaged and feeling worthwhile. It adds years to people's lives and quality to those years.
Gone is the idea of retirement from life and doing nothing but "taking it easy". Instead people are encouraged to stay active, participate in life and continue to be productive. Home Sweet Home Nursing Care provides care and support to allow older adults to gain or uphold personal resilience, independence and autonomy, whilst maintaining social roles, activities and relationships enabling them to live a productive lifestyle. Apart from appropriate medical care our role is to empower people to enjoy their later years, and wherever possible allow them to stay in their home environment. “Without hesitation, I highly recommend Home Sweet Home for in-home care
services and will use this excellent company for all my mother’s home care. As experienced nurses, Karen and Marella (the business owners) immediately understand the needs of the client and are able to effectively match the right care-giver to the situation. Furthermore, even when I had not engaged a care-giver, Karen and Marella generously provided their nursing advice and care recommendations to support my mother. What sets them apart from their competitors is their empathetic and knowledgeable care for their clients”.
