Welcome to March, the one time first month of the Roman Calendar. Legend has it that it was created by Romulus, the first king of Rome at around 730 BC and continued until about 150 BC. It had just 10 months and only 304 days, which meant that winter was nowhere in sight.
The month was dedicated to Mars, the god of war, so they added a little “ic” to the end of Mars to show it belonged to him and, as the Romans pronounce “c” as “ch” it became March.
In Europe, starting military ca mpa igns in spring made a lot of sense, the Romans even set the Ides of March (March 15th) as the deadline for settling debts. The spring offensive of the WWI started on Mar 21, 1918. No surprise then that Putin i nvaded Ukraine on Feb 24. In his mind it was to settle an old debt, bring Ukraine back into the Russian fold and start to re establish the Russian Empire as it was under the House of Romanov. At its peak between 1721 and 1917 it stretched from the Bering Sea, in the East to the Black Sea, in the West, an area that covers at least 11 time zones.
To represent the war in geographic terms is one thing (with Ukraine being just a small matter), but in ideological terms it pitches slavery against freedom, socialism against capitalism and dictatorship against democracy. A philosophy of “What’s yours is mine” against “What’s mine is ours”.
We see this conflict everywhere, both on a large scale and a small scale, in personal relationships, the tussle of political parties, the shouting down of views by keyboard warriors, the occurrence of massive cyber attacks and the bullying of smaller powers by larger powers. In sum, the desire by one side to disempower the other, versus the desire to help each other. With all its flaws democracy seeks the latter and totalitarianism the former (disguise it as they may, as Putin has for invading Ukraine).
One system helps people grow, inn ovate and work together, the other weakens them, destroys initiative and impoverishes them. So it’s hardly surprising that between 1946 and 2017 the number of democratic countries in the world increased from 29 to 57.
Totalitarian states see democratic neighbours as an existential threat. So Putin’s war on Ukraine is a war against democracy, one to be countered by every democratic nation. Once again we see that the RSL motto “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty” is for ever true and that always, and everywhere, there are those who wish to disadvantage others for their own benefit. They can use brute force, or disg uise their agenda with words like “For the better good”, but in every case they will attack until they are repelled and that’s how it’s been for all of human history.

that they must be constantly fought for. On both the world stage and in day to day life injustice needs to be countered, bullies challenged and those who want to take more they give brought to heel.

An exciting kid-friendly audio project has launched at South Head, telling the story of the annual humpback whale migration up the east coast from Antarctica.
Easily accessed by a QR code on mobile phones, the immersive tale – as well as the stunning coastal trail - can be enjoyed by families at their own pace. The nine audio chapters are only two to three minutes each, which make for easy listening for children.
“You can be listening and looking,” recommends renowned actor Vashti Hughes - who wrote the script and voices the lead whale.
And you don't have to be a child to enjoy the story – adults, retirees and the mobility impaired can listen to the Whale Tale by scanning the QR code on the South Head Whale Trail map. A free download will be available every Sunday morning in March –just walk by Macquarie Lighthouse at 11am or Clarke Reserve playground between 10.30-10.45am.

ride to be out in nature,” observes Hughes. “We’re also drawing attention to South Head National Park as there’s always ideas circulating about developing it, and we’re certainly very much for keeping it as it is.”

St Mark’s Anglican Church Darling Point is a well-known Anglican parish church in Australia and has become a popular wedding venue hosting such famous weddings as Elton John’s first marriage and the fictional wedding in the film Muriel’s Wedding. Social photographer Sam Hood captured many socialite weddings there during the 1930s. More importantly, many couples continue to begin their marriage journey at St Mark’s. Other couples choose to invest in their committed relationships by committing to marriage enrichment courses which are offered each year.
FAMOUS WEDDINGS AT ST MARK’S CHURCH
Muriel’s Wedding was an unexpected global sensation. The Australian film captured the world’s attention and popularised the phrase, “You’re terrible, Muriel”. St Mark’s served as Muriel and David’s wedding venue. The church’s aisles were adorned with flowers and few can forget the quizzical looks attendees gave Muriel as she walked down the aisle. Although the scene is short, Alicia Watson; a long-serving member of the St Mark’s community; explains that it took a long time to film. The street was shut and the church’s lawns were filled with vans and tents. Fans continue to visit St Mark’s today and take photos to remember the church where Muriel had her dream wedding.
Although St Mark’s has hosted many weddings, arguably none have been more photographed than Elton John and Renate Blauel’s Valentine’s Day wedding in 1984. Alicia Watson snuck inside the church to view the ceremony. St Mark’s Rector Reverend Canon James Whild officiated the wedding.
Elton and Renate’s wedding attire was classic of the 1980s. Elton wore a white
coat and lavender-coloured silk shirt. Australian fashion icon Keri Craig designed Renate’s dress. It featured large sleeves and lace – lots of lace. Craig had only four days to produce the dress that would photographed and published globally.
Fans gathered outside St Mark’s during the service. A crowd had formed by the time Elton and Renate exited the church. In the excitement of seeing their favourite singer, fans lent on the church’s wrought iron fence and it collapsed. A man also broke his leg during the hive of activity. Alicia explains that Elton later paid for the fence to be fixed and personally visited the injured fan in hospital. Canon Whild remained in contact with Elton for many years after the wedding.

Strickland House, a beautiful fixture in our community, has lived many lives. Built in 1856 by architect John Hilly, the site existed as a convalescent home in the 20th century, and then an aged care facility.
Now owned by the N SW Government, the House and its grounds serve as a reminder of the natural beauty Sydney is blessed with, as families, bushwalkers, and history fanatics alike admire the heritage it represents and the splendour that accompanies such legacy.
However, Strick land House is under threat. The Strickland Estate and Nielsen Park ‘Draft Master Plan’ seek to create a “tourist park” not in line with the principles of a National Park.
Complete with comm ercial-sized jetties, on-site private vehicle parking and a boutique hotel, congestion and overcrowding are simply inevitable. Further, environmental ha rms cannot be mitigated in the large construction plans detailed, especially with the indication that “future improvements” may be made, implying more overdevelopment possibilities.
Since const ructi on has been abandoned in rebuilding Nielsen Park’s 100-year-old seawall due to a dispute between contractors and the National Parks and Wildlife Service, it is entirely possible that history may repeat itself at the Strickland Estate, and this part of Vaucluse may also be closed over the peak summer months, restricting accessibility to a greater degree.
I am not, and will n ever be, opposed to Sydneysiders and tourists enjoying the natural beauty and heritage that Strickland Estate and its gardens have to offer. The site, along with Milk Beach and Nielsen Park have welcomed beachgoers and picnickers for decades and should continue to do so. However, the point where the community draws the line is when development turns into exploitation, ultimately risking ruining the beauty of the site and the heritage of the grounds.
The Strickla nd House Review Group set guiding principles in 1993, which included “preserving the site’s cultural heritage values and open space, while providing a framework for consistent decision-making in short and long-term,” as well as “retaining public ownership and appropriate general public use and enjoyment.” The Draft Plan lies in direct opposition to these principles. This
land was given to the NSW Government specifically for public use, and choosing to commercialise and ultimately, exploit these public spaces is an error which will decrease accessibility.
As outlined by Andrew Coroneo, Chairman of the Save Carrara/Strickland House Action Group, the Draft Plan has a major issue with community consultation. Presented at the inconvenient interim of Dec 2022 to Feb 2023, whilst many residents were spending time with family or away on holidays, adequate time was not given for
the community to even be made aware of these proposed changes, much less object to them in the detailed format required. We need to protect our public spaces, and decisions by the NSW Government which seek to commercialise and degrade the heritage value of such areas should be opposed.

The Watsons Bay & Vaucluse Social History Group is very pleased to announce the launch of their website www.wbvshg.org
The need for this site became a necessity after all 250 printed copies of the book THE WAY WE WERE: Stories of Watsons Bay & Vaucluse had been distributed and there was considerable ongoing interest in people wanting additional copies.
Fortunately, last year the Group was able to secure additional funding from the Australian Government, Community Grants Hub to develop a standalone website. This Site freely allows anyone to download the entire book THE WAY WE WERE or just individual chapters, as well as being able to read the book on-line. Furthermore, anyone can also upload their own local stories and pictures to the Group for consideration and afterwards this material will appear on the Site to be viewed and shared by all. Although the Site is not linked to any social media, it does have links to a number of other websites with similar content and interest.
The Watsons Bay & Vaucluse Social History Group was formed about ten years ago with the objective to produce a book, from oral history interviews, recording the fascinating past of the Watsons Bay and Vaucluse area.
THE WAY WE WERE tells the stor ies of m ultiple generations of families who have lived in and loved the area. Families remembered when Watsons Bay was a sleepy little fishing village and the suburb of Vaucluse was being developed for housing, through two world wars and up to the present time.
There are glimpses of historical events such as the Greycliffe Ferry Disaster in 1927 and the effects of WWII on the local community.
The book also covers interg ene rational recollections of neighborhood activities, architecture and real estate, local identities and childhood adventures.
The Committee members took seven years to progressively record 40 individual oral histories which were at the time put on CDs then transcribed and collated. Additional verbal and written contributions are also included from a number of other people.
Multiple funding s to publish THE WAY WE WERE, were gratefully received from Woollahra Municipal Council and The Royal Australian Historical Society.
The book was finally launched i n 2020 by Councillor Susan Wynne, the Mayor of Woollahra. This was in the middle of Covid but the launch still managed to have a good attendance at this presentation which was held at St Peters Anglican Church Hall in Watsons Bay.
The cu rrent active Com mittee is small and they would like to invite others with a similar interest in social history to join the Group with fresh new ideas. I begin my walk at McElhone Stairs, Victoria St, Potts Point, they were once called the “Challis Street Stairs”. The stairs were built in 1904 and were renamed in 1918, after John McElhone, a local businessman and Member of Parliament.
Next to McElhone Stairs is No. 55 Victoria St which is a heritage-listed residence and former boarding house and Catholic Women's Association hostel. It was constructed in the 1870s on a site that formed part of a parcel of land that was granted by Governor Ralph Darling to John Busby in 1831. John Busby, surveyor and civil engineer was one of the 13 nominees for grants on Woolloomooloo Hill.

I come to the main junction of Potts Point, Kings Cross and Darlinghurst. This walk wouldn't be complete without mentioning the CocaCola sign, which arrived in 1974 .
The new Coca -Cola sign created an unmistakable landmark, one that defined the area that quickly became known as ‘The Gateway to the Cross’.
It is the largest billboard in the Southern Hemisphere at 41 metres long and 13 metres high, the sign is comprised of two sides.
THE HANGED MAN is the Tarot Card. This card shows a man hanging upside down from a tree. It indicates enlightening and suggests you don't rush into any decision making. You should wait until things fall into place before making any decisions. You respond well to nature so make sure you spend time in our beautiful parks and beaches particularly if you live close to the city, as you don't like loud noises. You are a rtistic and need to take time for yourself and maybe start painting, sketching, creative writing. Give it a try and don't give up on your first attempt. THE EMPEROR is the Tarot Card. This card shows The Emperor seated on a cubic throne giving the impression of worldly powers and leadership. You are very strong and sometimes stubborn. You are dedicated your plan and will not accept the suggestions of others.
Across the street is St Vincent's College which was founded as the Victoria St Roman Catholic School, by the Sisters of Charity in 1858, a year after the sisters established St Vincent's Hospital at the same site. The school reopened as St Vincent's College, a secondary, fee-paying, private, independent school in May 1882, after the hospital's relocation to the neighbouring suburb of Darlinghurst.
Opposite are The Butler Stairs.
The stairs were named for James Butler, an Irish draper and alderman on Sydney Council who lived and worked with his family at 106 William St and was instrumental in having them laid. These stairs connect Brougham St, Woolloomooloo to Potts Pt.
Further down Victoria St at No. 202, I come across Juanita Nielsen's House, it is one of a group of three terrace houses which were erected in the 1850s on the site of the former Telford Lodge estate. Purchased by Juanita Nielsen in 1968, a journalist and great-granddaughter of businessman Mark Foy, Nielsen disappeared after she strongly opposed the redevelopment of the Potts Point/King Cross area and the intimidation and eviction of working-class tenants of the area and the adjoining suburb of Woolloomooloo.
At the junction of Darlinghurst Rd and Victoria St is the Darlinghurst Fire Station which was designed in 1910 by Walter Liberty Vernon it was built in 1911 and opened in 1912. The Walter Liberty Vernondesigned station was designed with the comfort of the firefighters top of mind, with ‘seven separate residences for the married men’ and ‘a suite of rooms for the single men.’ At the time of its construction, the brick and stone station was lauded as ‘one of the finest fire stations’ and an ‘ornament to the district’, and in a testament to its designers and builders, it is still in operation today. Further up Victoria St is St John's Anglican Church which was completed in 1858, with nave and aisles designed by J. F. Hilly. Many later additions were designed by Edmund Blacket.
I complete my walk at St Vincent's Hospital established in 1857 by five Irish Sisters of Charity, who had migrated to Sydney in 1838 with a mission to help the poor and disadvantaged. Some of their early work included helping victims of the 1853 influenza outbreak and families of prisoners in the nearby Darlinghurst Gaol. They established a hospital that was free for all people but founded especially for the poor, on a non-sectarian basis.

The Museum’s latest immersi ve exh ibition, Reverberations: A future for memory, shines a light on the humanity and life experiences of 43 Holocaust survivors who have shared their stories at the museum in recent years. This is not an exhibition focussed on the events of the Holocaust – it’s about the people who experienced it – and the painful decision they make each time they choose to relive their unimaginable loss for the betterment of humanity.
The exhibition takes you on a journey through a high-definition gallery of recorded footage, where you’ll encounter Holocaust survivors’ thought-provoking answers to questions like:
• Why do survivors choose to share their experiences?
• Is it difficult to talk about what happened to them?
• Can they forgive? Was there justice?
• What is their responsibility to those who were murdered?
You’ll be ab le to immerse yourself in conversation with digitised versions of three Holocaust survivors, including the late Eddie Jaku, which use cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technology to respond directly to any question they ask.
You’ll leave having h ad a g limpse into how future generations will engage with Holocaust survivor testimony, for when the time comes that there are sadly no more survivors alive to tell their own stories.
“Our community of Holocaust survivors live with the constant and everlasting trauma of what they went through,” says the exhibition’s Curator Shannon Biederman.
“Telling their stories to visitors, especially children, is often very painful but survivors choose to endure this pain in the hope that listeners will learn lessons and stand up for peace, kindness and humanity.

The Monday Nightingales Choir will hold a concert at 3pm on Sunday March 5, 2023. The concert will be held at St. Columba Church which is at the corner of Ocean and Forth Streets, Woollahra.

“Curtain Up” will be our first concert for more than three years and we are delighted to be performing again after disappointing postponements due to Covid. We will have the most amazing guest singer at this concert. Acclaimed mezzo soprano Jacqueline Dark will be starring. Jacqueline is a Helpmann and Green Room Award winning singer who performs in opera, musical theatre and cabaret.
The Monday Nightingales first sang together in April 2013, and we will be celebrating our tenth anniversary at this concert. Many of the founding choristers had been students at The Music Practice in Surry Hills and wanted to keep singing together after that business closed at the end of 2012. Starting with 12 singers, we now have a choir list of more than seventy with a waiting list for sopranos and altos. The success of the choir has been due to the brilliance of our Musical Director, Tanya Christensen.
Tanya had been a teacher at the Music Practice and many of us had seen her amazing ability to inspire and encourage singers of all levels. From the start, it was decided that this would be a non-audition choir and singers of all levels of experience would be welcomed. We have continued with that philosophy and have a wide range of
singing ability in the choir. All are united in a love of singing.
As well as her very extensive teaching career of students of all ages, Tanya is a very talented performer. She is currently a lead vocalist with the Australian Army Band and has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan to entertain the Australian troops there. She has also appeared in a wide variety of productions including musical theatre and opera as well as the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
As has been our custom in the past, there will be no charge for the concert, but we will be collecting donations for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation, a charity which provides musical instruments and opportunities for underprivileged children in Australia. The foundation runs an extensive programme of musical tuition throughout Australia. The Monday Nightingales choir has supported this charity since 2016 and generous donations from concert attendees have enabled us to give the charity a total of $18,280 over the years. We collect money with help from our pigs Fluffy and Fluffette. At this concert we will also have a ’square’ which enables us to take donations via credit cards.
The Australian Children’s Music Foundation was started in 2002 by Don Spencer, the children's television presenter, singersongwriter, and guitarist. Some might remember Don from Play School where he was a presenter for many years.

Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker has slammed recent changes to planning rules by the NSW Government potentially allowing mega-developer, Meriton a third attempt to rezone Little Bay for high-rise towers bypassing council and the community.
The NSW State G overnment is currently considering whether to include a new proposal from Meriton in its controversial fast-track Rezoning Pathways Program which it announced in Dec 2022. To be considered for the program, developments must create over 1,000 new dwellings.
If the NSW Gover nment agrees to include Meriton’s Little Bay site under its special ‘fast-track’ program, the NSW Department of Planning will conduct the assessment on the proposal and the decisionmaker will be the Minister or delegate of the Department of Planning allowing Meriton to side-step assessment and decision by council.
Randwick Council was recently notified that an application had been received for a site in Randwick City but that staff were required to sign a legally binding confidentiality agreement before they would be provided details or be able to provide technical comments. Meriton has since confirmed to the media the application is theirs.
This would represent Mer iton’s third attempt to build on the site. Council rejected a planning proposal for 22 storeys and 1,909 new dwellings in 2020. A rezoning review lodged with the NSW Department of Planning was also refused unanimously by the independent Sydney Eastern City Planning Panel in 2021.
“Giving m ega -developers like Meriton multiple rolls of the dice to destroy a beautiful coastline is offensive enough but for the NSW Government to do so by keeping communities in the dark and gagging public servants is scandalous to the extreme,” Mayor Parker said.
“Council has a lready done the heavy lifting by working alongside community to prepare appropriate controls that accommodate sensible growth. Allowing Meriton three attempts to change the rules that apply to them is simply outrageous.”
Meriton purchased the beachside site known as Little Bay Cove in March 2018 which came with completed public infrastructure including roads, footpaths, a playground and an approved shovel-ready
masterplan for around 450 dwellings in buildings 2-5 storeys high.
“If we are serious abo ut supplying quickly the housing Sydney needs, the NSW Government should stop-indulging mega-developers like Meriton and their high-rise fantasies and instead tell them to get on with the job of building to the existing approval. The site is shovel ready.” Randwick Mayor, Dylan Parker said.

The January edition of ‘Life’ informed the community of Peter King’s walk to commence on Feb 9, 2023 from Taree to Bondi Beach. Peter King walked more than 360km to help raise funds for First Steps Count Child and Community Centre Taree, to alleviate social challenges in one of the most disadvantaged rural regions in Australia, by helping children, families and communities in the Manning Valley, with an emphasis on early engagement and intervention for children aged 0-12 years.
Many readers and the general community supported Peter’s walk over nine days and more than 400 000 steps. Peter well and truly exceeded expectations, having raised five times that of the goal, producing a final amount of $25 000 thanks to the support of all doners.
Along the way there were quite a few adventures, some of which have been mentioned on his Twitter site @PEK_1952.
Particularly challengi ng was the walk along the mining trail from Seal Rocks to Hawks Nest. The last 10km of the trail merged into a single track with large snakes and goannas sighted. Using a large stick, Peter made as much noise as he could through those areas.
Arriving at Bondi Icebergs, Bondi Beach on Friday Feb 17 was terrific, Peter said to ‘Life’. The Club put on a reception to welcome Peter and his friends and supporters at the end of the epic journey. Peter thanked ‘Life’ for its generous support as well.

Randwick City residents can once again recycle soft plastics with Randwick Council entering into a new partnership with a local recycler, said Mayor Dylan Parker.
Under the partnership, Randwick City residents can drop off their soft plastics at the Randwick Recycling Centre in Matraville beginning immediately.
The plastic is then collected by a company called Plasmar, taken to their recycling facility where it is pelletised and recycled into practical products like wheel stops, posts and bollards.
Council has also agreed to buy back these products as a trial for local use, meaning plastics recycled locally will be given a new lease on life in the place they were originally collected.
“This is a great example of local government taking the lead and providing a local solution to a national problem,” Mayor Dylan Parker said.
“When RedCycle stopped collecting soft plastics across the country last year, it created a huge problem and has resulted in
increased waste in people’s red bins and more material going to landfill."
“I’m very pleased we’ve been able to find a solution and to help our residents do the right thing by the environment."
“Hopefully a program like this might be able to be expanded for use in other council areas and across the state as our country tackles the challenging issue of soft plastic recycling."
Residents can drop their soft plastics off at the Randwick Recycling Centre beginning immediately.
The Randwick Recycling Centre is located at 72 Perry St in Matraville. It is open Mon-Fri from 6am - 2:45pm and on the first Saturday of every month from 7:30am - 2pm.
Waverley Council unanimously voted to apply to NSW Heritage for an interim heritage order (IHO) for 34-36 Flood St, Bondi.
Once issued, th e IHO will provide immediate protection of the site from demolition and gives Council 12 months to undertake a detailed heritage assessment of the site to determine if it should be listed as a heritage item (local or state). A preliminary assessment by Council’s heritage officers suggests this building is of both local and state significance.
The site contains the Yeshiva College, formerly the Sydney Talmudical College, and a synagogue designed by worldrenowned architect and champion of the Modern Movement, Harry Seidler (1923-2006). It was the only religious building designed by Seidler and is important to the Jewish Community as a school, community centre, and meeting place, as well as a place of worship.
Mayor of Waverley, Paula Massel os, said Council is committed to retaining social and scarce educational infrastructure in
Waverley to support a resilient community through the provision of spaces in which people can gather and form relationships within the community.
“This historical reli gious and educational facility has served the Jewish community for more than 60 years and it is critical that this facility is not lost for this community,” Mayor Masselos said.
“We have the support of th e Seidl er Family, the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA), Docomomo Australia, and other interested parties including members of the Jewish community who want to see an IHO put in place.”
The site is zoned ‘SP2 – I nfrastructure’ and sites of this type provide crucial social infrastructure, such as education, religious and health facilities, and cultural facilities.

The Waverley Local Hero Awards, held over two years, recognise people’s contributions to community services and wellbeing, arts and culture, sports and recreation, the environment and volunteering. Waverley Council is delighted to announce the completion of the final section of the Bondi Junction Cycleway which links Oxford Street, Syd Enfield Drive and Bondi Rd to Centennial Park.

Woollahra Council has received $1.576 million in funding from the NSW Government to help fix potholes on local roads, streets and laneways.

One of Sydney’s last remaining Moon Rocket slippery dips in Bondi is set to make a comeback as part of Waverley Council’s upgrade of Waverley Park.
The park’s original 1960s moon rocket is being replaced with a sleek new version complete with a launch control play tower and futuristic-shaped slide.
Randwick Council is hosting Yarra Bay Family Fun Day! All members of the community are invited to attend a family-friendly celebration of Yarra Bay at Bicentennial Park, Yarra Bay (near the Sailing Club) on Saturday Mar 4, 11am-3pm.
“We are delighted to be hosting this event to highlight our community’s love of Yarra Bay – it has to stay,” said Mayor Dylan Parker. “It’s a special part of our City and we support the local residents in preserving the unique beauty and heritage of the local area.”

Yarra Bay has been under a dark cloud since 2018 when the NSW Government released a Cruise Development Plan identifying the need for a third international cruise ship terminal in Sydney. The preferred location for third terminal has been narrowed down to Yarra Bay.
Randwick City residents can once again recycle soft plastics with Randwick Council entering into a new partnership with a local recycler, says Mayor Dylan Parker.
Under the partnership, Randwick City residents can drop off their soft plastics at the Randwick Recycling Centre in Matraville beginning immediately.
The plastic is then collected by a company called Plasmar, taken to their recycling facility where it is pelletised and recycled into practical products like wheel stops, posts and bollards.
Council has also agreed to buy back these products as a trial for local use, meaning plastics recycled locally will be given a new lease on life in the place they were originally collected.
The annual competition is a special opportunity to shine a spotlight on women’s creative talents and to bring like-minded members of the community together to celebrate the unique contribution that women make to our City.
Winning and shortlisted artworks will be showcased in an exhibition at the Randwick Community Centre in honour of International Women's Day, which takes place on Mar 8.

At the SCG’s recent Pi nk Test, I was joined by NSW Labor leader Chris Minns to announce a commitment to make NSW the first state in Australia that provides specialist care for everyone diagnosed with breast cancer, through the incredible McGrath Foundation. A $19.5 million investment will ensure that regardless of where you live or what you earn, those diagnosed with breast cancer will have free access to a breast cancer nurse.
As a proud supporter of an Abor iginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament, I am excited to see our community and our country come together to create a better future by voting ‘Yes’ for the Voice in this year’s referendum. The Voice is about improving the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, including in practical ways such as health, education, and housing.
