The group airing down.
On Saturday March 5th, 2011 around 10 AM we met up at the Sheep Company Road entrance of the Wenas Wildlife Area for a Forest Watch run hosted by Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch. We had Forest Watch Volunteers come from as far as Tri-Cities for this run.
We ran Durr Road, then Bull Pasture Road, Bell Tel. Road up onto the top of the Umtanum Ridge. From there we ran Umtanum Ridge Road northwest and dropped down on to North Wenas Road. We took the pavement to near Wenas Lake and headed back up on top of Umtanum Ridge. Once on top we run Umtanum Ridge Road to the towers and dropped down Durr Road back out Sheep Company Road. The roads down lower were real muddy and the upper roads were covered by a few inches of snow. The snow was a little deeper in a few areas but not a problem for our group other than the off camber part of the Umtanum Ridge Road west of the Oasis. We did see one rig up there wheeling alone having problems until he put on chains. There were two groups of quads up there that seem to get around fine.
Heading up Durr Road.
Now on Bull Pasture Road.
This was another fun time thanks to all that came. Here are my pictures of the day: EasternWashingtonAdventures.com

On up looking back again.
Note to anyone that may wonder about the mud on our rigs: We did not do any mudding! Mudding is illegal. Our rigs are covered with mud from our tires turning not from spinning in place.

These synthetic winch ropes yield the maximum in strength to weight ratio while being stronger than steel cables. Unlike steel cables, synthetic lines do not store energy under stress and in the event of breakage; they do not exert the dangerous and violent whiplash action like that of a snapped steel cable. Ropes come with a thimble loop on one end with swivel hook.

Proud sponsors of the Forest Watch Volunteer Program
"Forest Watch Volunteer Program" is open to everyone nationwide. All outdoor enthusiasts including campers, hikers, bird watchers, horsemen, fishermen, hunters, ATV riders, 4 wheelers, snowmobilers, etc are encouraged to participate. This is a volunteer program for those who are willing to report violators that break the rules on our Public Lands. If people know we are watching then hopefully we can lessen damage done and keep access to our public lands open and reduce the amount of taxpayers money being spent for repairs to these areas. No meetings, work days or membership dues are required. Just Vigilance and a willingness to take pictures of and report offenders caught in the "act". The "Forest Watch Volunteer Program" is a nationwide program funded by "Project Funds" through the non-profit group Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch Association by donations from people who care to keep public lands open. If you would like to donate to this "Project Fund", you can send a check or money order to "Forest Watch" at 3250 Selah Loop Rd. Selah, WA 98942 or use the PayPal Donation button on the web site ForestWatchVP.org. These donations go directly to the "Forest Watch Volunteer Program" and are not used for any other purpose. 2011 Slab Clean-up By Clay Graham On Saturday March 26th, 2011 we met up at the Slab ORV Area near Buena Washington around 10 AM for the Slab Clean-up hosted by the Dust Dodgers & Yakima/Kittitas Forest Watch. The area was a lot cleaner than years past. I believe only two loads went to the dump and we took a small load home to put in our dumpster. We would like to thank all the people that came out to help on this rainy day. Thank you Dust Dodgers for the hot dogs and for taking of the dump fee. Here are a few pictures I took of the day: The Forest Watch Volunteer booth where people signed in.

All Wheelers Ahtanum Snow Run Report by Clay Graham Photos by Clay Graham and D.J. Scadlock
On April 9th, 2011 the All Wheelers Off Road Club met up at Nasty Creek Corrals to have some snow wheelin' fun at the Ahtanum State Forest. We ran up to Ewe Neck and found it was not passable because of the snow drifts blocked the road. We dropped back down and tried to get up to Whites Ridge 4x4 Trail but the Mid Fork Road was blocked by a big tree at the two mile marker. We did not have a chain saw with us and we could not go around the tree without causing resource damage, so we turned around. We took Whites Ridge Loop Road up but ran into an off camber snow drift section. Three of the rigs cross but turn around since it was kind of hairy for the whole group. We ran over onto Sedge Ridge and had some fun in the deep snow up there. Around 6 PM or so we came back out the South Fork Road. This was a very fun run. Here are some pictures of the day:

EasternWashingtonAdventures.com Turning around to run Jackass Road down.
At the pavement most of us turned and ran the Mid Fork up. Three rigs headed home. At the 2 mile mark there was a big tree down across the road.
We did not have a chain saw with us and we could not go around the tree without causing resource damage, so we turned around. We took Whites Ridge Loop Road on up to this off camber section.
The snow was soft on one side of the road and it sucked my rig into the ditch.
EasternWashingtonAdventures.com
BlindPilot broke trail through. Foxracer and I followed. Once on the other side we turned around since the vote of the group was to go someplace else.
Page 25
EasternWashingtonAdventures.com This was not fun crossing.
Up the hill Jeepscum got stuck and had to winch.
We ran back down and then up Red Saddle to run Sedge Ridge 4x4 Trail.
We turned around before the Rocky Climb and headed over to run the South Fork up. The South Fork Road was a blast. Foxracer kept sliding into the ditch.
The snow was deep and the tree holes were big.
Here these guys are trying to run me over.
Foxracer drove out of this hole.

EasternWashingtonAdventures.com Havo Jr. winched Foxracer out after I could not pull him forward.
Up where South Fork runs onto Sedge Ridge 4x4 trail, BlindPilot got stuck so Havo takes the lead. I follow until Havo got stuck.
I drove around Havo since Havo Jr. show up to help his old man.
The drifts were big in the open areas.
Here I was trying to pass Craigen and I got stuck. Jeepscum tried to back up to help me and also got stuck.

Havo tried to pull and winch Jeepscum's TJ from the rear but that did not work.

Havo went around to the front and Jeepscum's TJ came out fine.
On up everyone was getting stuck. I tried to pull Jeepscum's rig out and my rig got stuck tied to him.
Craigen gave me a pull out and we were all on our way back down South Fork Road. Here close to the pavement of South Fork Road, we aired up for home.

Report by Clay Graham Photos by Clay Graham & Cody Davis
On Tuesday April 26th, 2011 we met up at McDonald's in Ellensburg Washington for the Eastern Washington Adventures Durr Road run. Durr road was built in the 1880s as a short cut for wagons to travel between Ellensburg to Selah faster since the Wenas pass was much longer. It took us four hours to complete the run to the end at Sheep Company Road North of Selah. We stopped a few times for views and ran the East end of the Umtanum Ridge and back to over look the Yakima River Canyon.
Durr road crosses Umtanum Ridge near the towers. We have aways to go.
Here are some pictures of our day: Odo was my Co-pilot. Here we are waiting for the others at McDonald's in Ellensburg.
