Work has been proceeding on refurbishing the Nag’s Head and the opening date is planned for the last half of October. After earlier negotiations fell through, everyone was concerned about the future of the pub, until it was purchased by Total Investments Ltd. The directors The Nag’s Head pub—centre of village are Mr David Lelife—now resplendent in its new paint. pia and Mr John Harris of Whittlesey. They have been behind some quality local building projects (including Manor View, next to St Mary’s church) and they have already refurbished the pub with new fixtures and carpets. Even the cellar has been redecorated, ready for a range of beers from Greene King plus high quality guest beers each month. The aim is to restore our traditional village pub. The new licensee will be Dot Paling with Nog once more in his rightful place behind the bar!

S TUDENT GRANTS Three promising Eastrea students have applied for a Storers’ student grant for the new academic year. Award-winners will be announced before the last day of September.

The senior citizens lunch was at The Vine this year, with help from Mr Sennett (delivering the leaflets with his team of volunteers) and also Mr Wright (who kindly printed off the invitations). In 2008 we plan to be based at the Nag’s Head.
