TRENT’S ETSU STORY
With distinguished academic and leadership achievements, ETSU student Trent White earned a Truman Scholarship for graduate studies, one of the most prestigious college awards in the United States.
A first-generation college student, Trent is a political science major at ETSU. He has served as SGA president and is a member of the Roan Scholars Leadership Program. The Truman national committee heralded Trent’s commitment to serving marginalized communities in rural Appalachia and pointed to his future as a dedicated public servant.

CRAIG’S ETSU STORY
Named Tennessee’s Small Business Person of the Year, alumnus Craig Charles goes beyond his own success to invest in others. Craig’s business, Crown Cutz Academy, instructs future barbers in the Appalachian area, equipping them for professional and personal achievement. Extending his influence, he has also launched initiatives to train barbers as mental health advocates for their clients.

ISABELLE’S ETSU STORY
Isabelle Bisio is maxing out her college experience. An honors transfer student studying Clinical Psychology, she has joined two psychology research labs, attended an internship in Washington, D.C., worked as an Academic Coach, presented at four research conferences, worked on campus for Outdoor Adventure, and joined the BOLT program (Buccaneer Outdoor Leadership Training). Isabelle hopes to combine her love for the outdoors with her psychology degree with next steps ranging from outdoor therapy certification, to working in foster care, to pursuing overseas job opportunities.

The average enrolling student has a 3.5 GPA and a 23 ACT. First-year applicants must have a minimum 2.3 GPA or a 17 ACT/920 SAT.
