Biography

Rolf Jan van der Wal was born in 1954 in Hilversum, The Netherlands.

He graduated from the Ar t college in Utrecht. He attended esthetic and graphic design education. Af ter college he star ted teaching two and three dimensional ar t and ar t histor y and did so for 38 years.

As a Dutch ar tist Rolf is ver y well known for his amazing two-dimensional ar twork which is carefully drawn and painted by hand, with oil- or acr ylic paint, sof t pastels, color pencils or Indian ink on paper or canvas.

Rolf has gained his fame through exhibitions, work in commission, in various countries. He created his own sensational style of original, authentic, fine ar t.

He currently is retired from teaching and moved to Spain, where he still paints.
