Launched the “Are They Good for Your Kids?” Campaign

On April 5th, 2020, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, in partnership with the Child Victim’s Trust Fund, announced the “Are They Good for Your Kids?” campaign, a new initiative to prevent child sexual abuse before it ever occurs. The campaign utilized digital and bus advertisements, as well as postcards, to direct Kentuckians back to a landing page to learn more about how to recognize when a child is being groomed for child sexual abuse and healthy childhood development. With recommendations directly from the Child Fatality/Near Fatality Review Panel, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky released the new Home Safety Check-List. This brochure outlines how parents and caregivers can maintain a home environment safe for children to prevent accidental injury, or even death. Click here to download the brochure.

New Partner Initiative Launched 2-IN-20

In an effort to promote networking and facilitate prevention-focused partnerships, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky launched a new partner initiative, 2-in-20. In these monthly meetings, two partners present information about their organization and mission for ten minutes each. Since launching 2-in-20 meetings, we have engaged partners around the issues of fatherhood, home safety, substance use and more, in an effort to not only provide networking opportunities for our partners, but also to build up our network so we are all better equipped to prevent child abuse and neglect.
