eeping hands clean is one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and scattering germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean, running water. One of the practices that the teachers in San Jose Elementary School imparts to their pupils is the proper way of washing their hands before and after eating. Improper hand washing can cause germs and bacteria to spread. Washing hands for at least 20 seconds will make sure to tackle germs present in our hands. A Prominence of Brushing Teeth Regularly “ A wonderful day starts with breakfast! But it will be more delightful if everyone brushes their teeth that brings them sweet smile in their face. One of the aim of San Jose Elementary School is to practice healthy habits like proper brushing of teeth after every meal. Teachers conveys this habit to their pupils and insisted that brushing with toothpaste is important for several reasons. First, and foremost, a toothpaste and a correct brushing action work to remove plaque, a sticky, harmful film of bacteria that grows on your teeth that causes cavities, gums disease and eventual tooth loss if not controlled.
SBFP : A Program of DepEd and DSWD declines Malnutrition Department of Social Welfare and Development and Department of Education are conducting School Based Feeding Program with hopes of ending malnutrition among students. School Based Feeding Program in San Jose Elementary School provides both educational and health benefits to 12 severely wasted and 32 wasted learners, thereby increasing enrollment rates, reducing absenteeism and improving
food security at the household level. Lasting for 120 days, the feeding program targets the restoration of beneficiaries to their normal nutritional status and the improvement of class attendance. This year, the feeding program started this month of July and ends in December. A child’s nutritional status is assessed before and after the program to determine if the students have reached their ideal nutritional status.
With the help and support of the parents and other stakeholders, we believe that School Based Feeding Program in San Jose Elementary School will be further improved and educate families about health and nutrition, so that they could sustain the progress children have made during the school feeding program.
