GREETINGS FRIENDS AND SIMMENTAL ENTHUSIASTS!

Wow! What a winter mother nature has decided to gift us with. I know a lot of us felt like “Moses in Minnesota” with the snow blower to part the drifts over the driveway. The number of times this spring we have said, “We shouldn’t complain, we need the moisture but dang we are running out of places to put the snow” has been countless. Those “we need moisture” prayers were definitely heard, but I feel like next time we should be a little more organized in our prayer chain to be spared from the 279,342 4-5 inch “dustings”!

None the less, spring will be here (hopefully) soon and that means plentiful grass pastures and beautiful pairs. Although the offering is smaller than some years and the weather prevented us from getting fall show heifers ready, the quality is in the pairs and bulls makes a person excited for the next generations. Lots of these girls are ready for donor production and several of the boys are broke and made the trip to Denver.

In mid December we were analyzing Denver pen bulls and decided Total Speed certainly needed to make that trip. Come Denver time he took right to show bull life and truly enjoyed the extra attention.

Turn N Burn is certainly a cool name for a Need 4 Speed son and very appropriate as he is going to turn some heads and burn an image in your mind of what a bull should look like. This bull is so flawless in his structure and that comes from both sides of the pedigree. Kind of surprised Amanda hasn’t got the idea to keep this one and show him as a big bull because that idea has crossed my mind on numerous occasions. Great attitude, amazing hair and a look that will never go out of style. He reads calving ease and when you study his head and shoulder design it sure looks like he should be.
