The Burdens of College Education/ Student Loan Debt The modern student is raised in a world where college education is seen as the only route to a stable career. As a result, young people are taking more and more debts, in an effort to provide themselves with the future that they've always dreamed of.

The sheer amount of student loan debt that today's young proletariat class faces is staggering. Over 40 million borrowers currently owe over 1 trillion dollars and there is no need to the problem in sight. There is no denying that student loan debt is a growing issue, one that shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

So what does a student who is forced to choose between a life of menial employment or incurring a massive debt that will hang over them like a dark cloud supposed to do? Getting buried in student loan debt and being forced to shoulder a massive financial burden are problems that prospective students would rather avoid, but what other choice do they have?

The Burdens of College Education/ Student Loan Debt Contd.. In most instances, they are expected to delay their future happiness by steering clear of marriage and children. They also tend to struggle when it comes time to make major purchases, such as homes and vehicles. The percentage of workers with a college diploma who are able to make the purchases that they desire is slim to none.

These cumbersome debts also cause a greater percentage of economic inequality, which underscores the real issue: student loan debt and its ability to undercut the economic opportunities that education is supposed to be offering. A student's primary objective when it comes time to shell out for a degree is to increase their level of economic viability, not place them in debt for the majority of their adult lives.

Winding up in the same place as where you started is not what college education is all about. It is supposed to lessen a student's burden, but for the most part, it only seems to make matters worse. Getting ahead for workers who are trapped in this predicament is merely a pipe dream, as many of them live in a world where breaking even is the main goal. Finishing college, only to find out that you can barely get by is not a fate that anyone should experience.

These are all things that you need to consider when planning for planning financially for college. If you cannot afford going to college but don’t want to consider getting loans, there are ways for you to attend college debt-free. Here are some of the possible ways you can go to college without worrying anything about finances:

•Attend a Free College In the U.S., there are colleges that are completely free with room, board and living expenses are what you only have to pay. The tuition and other similar fees are usually covered by the college with some only requiring the students to work on campus a few hours in a week. Most free colleges are liberal arts colleges but there are also engineering and music.

•Earn Scholarships If you or your parents are unable to save for your college education, it’s possible to get to college through full-ride academic scholarships or perhaps an athletic scholarship. Of course, you have to know that these are highly competitive. As such, it is advised that while you look for full scholarships, you should also look for less known and competitive opportunities that can ease your college finances.
