Ashford School Caller Job Description Summer 2022 Background: The Ashford School Foundation was established in 2016 with the objective to advance education at Ashford School through both financial assistance to talented pupils who would otherwise not be able to afford an Ashford School education, and by funding the development of the School’s facilities. Last summer, we held our second ever telephone campaign, raising nearly £20,000 from our generous School community, and speaking with over 180 Ashford School alumni. Based on the success of last summer, we want to make this a yearly event, with a twofold purpose: 1. Enhance communication and further develop relationships between Ashford School and its alumni. 2. Fundraise on behalf of the Ashford School Foundation for bursaries. We are looking to employ enthusiastic, friendly individuals to help us contact past pupils during the campaign. As a fundraiser your work will have a direct impact in helping talented students access the benefits of an Ashford School education. Your Role: You will be working as part of a team, telephoning Ashford School alumni and donors. You will speak to them about their experience at Ashford School, their career, as well as about your own experience and ambitions. You will also explain the importance of fundraising for the future of the school, chat about our current bursary fundraising objectives, and ask if they would be happy to make a donation.


What skills do I need? Welcome Headmaster We are looking for currentfrom students and the alumni with: Excellent oral and written communication skills Confident, friendly, and positive disposition Good telephone manner & listening skills Committed and reliable An understanding of the importance of attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle objections and overcome challenges Strong team spirit A passion and an excitement for the future development of Ashford School

No previous experience of telephone fundraising or sales is required as full training will be provided. The compulsory training session will provide you with everything you need to know about telephone fundraising and the campaign. Confidentiality: The post entails work with personal data and confidential information. The successful candidates must maintain the confidentiality of information regarding the School, its staff and its business. Information must not be communicated to other persons either inside or outside the School except in the recognised course of their duties. When and where will you work? The callers will be based at Ashford Senior School for duration of the campaign. Training day on Monday 1 August, 10:00 - 16:00 Monday 1 August, 17:00 - 19:00 Tuesday 2 August - Thursday 4 August 2021, 16:30 - 21:00 Monday 8 August - Friday 12 August, 16:30 - 21:00 Pay & Benefits: This is a rewarding and enjoyable role with the following benefits: A competitive salary (TBC) Payment will be made in arrears.
