Game Notes (does not include yesterday’s game) Racking Up the Points: After failing to score more than 40 points in each of the the past three games, Elmira erupted for 88 points against Penn College on February 9th. This is the most points scored by EC in a single game in almost eight years. Elmira dropped 92 points on Ithaca College on February 24th, 2007. Leading the Empire 8: Kelsey Geisler ’15 posted six assists against Penn College on February 9th. She now has upped her season average to 3.5 assists per contest to tie for first in the Empire 8 Conference. She also takes care of the ball as she is ranked fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio in the conference with a ratio of 1.0. Not In Our House: The Purple and Gold recorded a season-high eight blocks against Penn College. Not only is this a season-high, but the most the EC women have posted in a single-game since January 24th, 2012 when the Soaring Eagles recorded the same amount against Alfred University. Elmira now ranks second in the Empire 8 Conference in blocked shots per contest with 3.50, 0.95 blocks behind Empire 8 Conference leader Stevens Institute of Technology.

The Hawks are sitting seventh in the Empire 8 standings, four games out of fourth place. Hartwick snapped a two-game skid on February 10th with a 44-38 win over conference foe, Utica College. Doubling Up: In the win over Utica, Taylor Vonasek ’16 and Jacqui Foreman ’17 led the Hawks with a pair of double-double performances. Vonasek poured in 13 points and pulled down 13 rebounds while Foreman posted 10 points and 12 rebounds. This is Vonasek’s second-career doubledouble and Foreman’s first-career double-double performance.
