• Chestnut Hill College is in their fifth season as an NCAA DII program, their fourth under Head Coach Brian Dougherty. • Chestnut Hill College Head Coach Brian Dougherty is a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a two-time, First Team All-American at the University of Maryland (1993-1996), a two-time Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Champion (1998 & 2010), a two-time Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award winner (1995 & 1996), and a three-time Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Champion (2003, 2006, & 2007), which previously earned him the title of “Goalie of the Decade” (2001-2010). • Senior attack Michael Melnychenko (St. Catharines, Ontario) was the East Coast Conference (ECC) Rookie of the Year and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) DII Scoring Champion in 2011 when he averaged 3.57 goals/contest with 50 goals over 14 games. • Among active players, Melnychenko is currently No. 2 in Division II in career goals and No. 10 across all three divisions. • The Griffin’s men’s lacrosse team excelled in the classroom in 2013, earning the ECC Academic Team of Excellence Award. Goalkeeper Dakota Maurer was also named the ECC Men’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Luke currently leads the nation in assists and points per game. • Senior Danny McDermott was recognized for his achievements on the field when he was named the 2014 NYIT Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year, it was announced at the Bears’ Athletics Awards Night on April 28.
