• Molloy College Class of 2016 alumna Tracey Balinskas was named as one of the top-30 finalists for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award this past October. Balinskas was a four-year star for the Lions’ softball team and also served as the Vice President of the Molloy Student-Athlete Advisory Committee before graduating in May. • Molloy College was named the #1 Value All-Star in the country by Money Magazine as part of the publication’s annual college rankings that were released in August of 2016. • Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Matthew Morrison will perform at Molloy College’s 2016 Gala, which will take place at The Madison Theatre on Friday, November 4. The Gala is one of many events that take place at The Madison Theatre, which is one of Nassau County’s premiere destinations for great performances, discussions and lectures.

• This is Head Coach Carlos Delcid’s 16th season at the helm of the men’s soccer program. In the past five seasons he has led his team to the ECC finals four times. • Junior keeper Jonathan Rico has earned ECC defensive player of the week twice this season, posting a 10-4-3 in net, which includes seven shutout victories. • NYIT women’s tennis is no stranger to ECC Championships as they clinched regular season and won the tournament for the fifth consecutive season last month. Lena Dimmer was named ECC Player of the Year and teammate Karolina Pondisova was selected as the ECC Rookie of the Year. • The NYIT Department of Athletics added it’s 13th intercollegiate sport this summer, an NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse program.

• The Spartans received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament in 2011 despite not making the ECC tournament. STAC went on to defeat NYIT 4-1 in the NCAA opening round. • The last time the Spartans were in the ECC tournament was 2010 • Luis Morales’ 15 goals ranks him among the top 10 in DII in total goals scored and 2nd in the ECC.

About St. Thomas Aquinas:

The College’s 2,000 full and part time undergraduate students major in one of 31 programs offered in five division areas: The Humanitites; Business Administration; Social Sciences; Natrual Sciences & Mathematics; and Teacher Education. The College offers a full scholarship Honors Program which provides studens with a Summer Study experience at Oxford University in England. In addition there are several study abroud opportunities and strategic alliances designed to offer expanded opportunities for students. For example, students can major in mathematics at St. Thomas for three years and then enter a engineering program at either George Washington University or Manhattan College as part of a dual degree program. St. Thomas Aquinas College now fields 16 NCAA Division II sports, is an active member of the NCAA and supports 200 student-athletes. Men’s sports include: baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis and track & field (indoor and outdoor). Women’s sports include: basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis and track & field (indoor and outdoor). The Spartans’ and Lady Spartan’s teams compete in more than 300 contests annually.
