Miriam Agustin
Member, Community Development Committee Miriam has always been a part of CDC since she was an app. She has given her hand in helping in the different projects of CDC. Jenny Destacamento Member, Finance Committee Member, Membership Committee Member, Secretariat Committee Member, Task Force Committee Member, Ad Hoc-Task Force Committee
You may not always see her in the tambayan, but sure enough, she’s doing her job excellently behind the scene. In whatever committee she may have belonged to (finance, memcom, fair marketing, etc.), she was able to show her passion and dedication in what she does. She is Jenny, a woman of beauty and substance. As an Ecosocer, she was able to share her talents, skills, and ideas that are of use to her committee/s. She’s very hardworking, despite that fact that she also graduating and has other orgs. And as a friend, she is someone who you can easily talk to. She’s fun to be with and she really shares her views and ideas and gives advice as well. She’s kind, thoughtful and caring. And she never fails to give a sweet smile at everyone, one sure to brighten up your day! By Kenna Barit and Nikki Villanueva
Cole Diomampo
Vice-Chairperson, Community Development Committee Member, Community Development Committee Member, Special Events Committee Member, Task Force Committee Who does not know Cole Diomampo? The eldest Ecosocer until his graduation, Cole has been a driving force in Ecosoc. Despite painful experiences in Econ, he has not shown hesitation in returning to the Tambayan, being one of the most active honorary members of the Society. Cole is a watchful guardian, who always has the welfare of his wards in mind. He is an inspiration to both his wards and fellow guardians, many of whom simply envy the passion Cole has for potential members, batch after batch. Cole is a great committee member, who has always done more than what was expected of him. He is a model for all Ecosocers who aspire to excel in their work. Cole is an excellent friend, who will tease you when you have love problems, but will be there anyway in times of deepest pain. Cole is a friend and a true Ecosocer. Contributed
Kris Esgana
Member, Secretariat Committee Before Kris, nobody could remember a fourth year applicant. Originally a Truly applicant, Kris re-applied the semester immediately after her first application was denied. She was finally welcomed by the Society just last semester, as a Livewire graduate. Kris is described by her co-applicants as sweet, caring, and concerned. One of the more sensitive ones, Kris never picked a fight. Her interests include boys and clothes. She loves to chat with her friends, and is very amiable. Kris was an Ecosoc member for a semester, but to her coapplicants, her co-members, and her batchmates, she is a lifetime friend.
Gel Fernandez
Chairperson, Community Development Committee Vice-Chairperson, Community Development Committee Co-Chairperson, Ad Hoc Committee Director, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Community Development Committee Member, Ad Hoc-Task Force Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee Gel is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get. Not true. Actually, she’s a really really, sweet (like chocolate!) person. She’s going to bake brownies for you and sell them for you. She’s going to take good care of your kids, tutor your kids and love them so sweetly. She’ll go to your activities, your basketball game, your pageant, your parties and anytime that you want her to be with you. She’ll make you feel that you’re a big part of her life. So sweet, eh? She’s also going to hold your hand wherever you go, support you all the way and just be there every time you need her. She’ll surprise you with siomai and sansrival on your birthday and make you feel like the luckiest person on the planet. She will make you smile and when you do, you’ll know why she’s like chocolate. By Jay Tolentino
BJ Firmacion
Member, External Affairs Committee Member, Task Force Committee “Who is Ladislao Firmacion III?” most applicants would ask. It’s not because no one knows him, it’s just that no one knows his real name. BJ, as what everyone usually calls him, can easily be described in two words: always game. His shining moment would have to be when he became the goddess Demeter during the Grand Tradition 2008. He did everything he was asked to do, from dancing sweetly with Q, to wearing nail polish, and even to shaving his legs with Veet! He gamely wore a grass skirt during their Full Blast Challenge Night and danced the night away with his app batchmates. BJ is a loyalist. He spent his whole Ecosoc life at Externals, serving his home committee from start ‘til end. BJ is a manly man but when it comes to the organization, he shows his softer side. And that’s who Ladislao Firmacion III is. By Ella Parel
Raffy Fulgar
Member, External Affairs Committee Member, Special Events Committee Those who do not know Raffy on a personal level might think that he is a very soft-spoken guy, but this quiet disposition is only a misconception of who Raffy really is. When a person does get to talk to him and crack that seemingly tough shell, one will find out that for a quiet guy, he has really a lot to say. When he puts his thoughts into writing, to say that he is only articulate is an understatement of his literary talent. Not only is he gifted with words but with music as well, and this we can prove when we hear him play the guitar. One can ask him about almost everything—from philosophy to economics, from European languages to love—and one can be assured to always get a sensible answer from him. His intelligence and his own profound perception of the world maybe sometimes misunderstood, but it cannot be denied that he is, most of all, a great friend. By Jes Manipon
Terry Gutierrez
Member, Community Development Committee Member, Task Force If there was a portrait of a happy, problem-free and fulfilling life in UPSE, that would be Terry’s. Although that may come out as a bit sugar-coated, Terry had indeed exuded an aura that is carefree, but always welcoming. Terry’s shining personality had earned her not only friends across all batches in Econ, but also the trust of her batchmates who catapulted her to a place in the student council. She is also a very active student, representing the school in sporting events and being a member of several organizations. Her presence may be missed sometimes in the Tambayan, but she definitely made it a point to fulfil her duties as an Ecosocer. Terry leaves us with a reminder that life is not all about doing responsibilities, but it’s about doing responsibilities and being kind to yourself and the ones around you. By Horace Cimafranca
Triszh Hermogenes Secretary Chairperson, Secretariat Committee Vice-Chairperson, Secretariat Committee Member, Secretariat Committee Member, Special Events Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee “Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, you should always bring your own sunshine.” This is exactly what Econ’s one and only fashion princess has done for the past four years of her stay in U.P. Triszh Hermogenes is one of those people who can make any day a happy one. Her perky greetings and heartwarming smile always make the world seem a whole lot brighter. But what’s more amazing about her is her wit, her intelligence, her charm, and her genuine personality. She’s more than just a pretty face. She’s very protective of her friends and her family, and she stays true to herself no matter what. That’s one of the reasons why she stands out—aside from her outrageously high heels. But as fate has always shown, fairytales do come to an end, and even princesses grow up. For our princess, that time has come. As she embarks on a new journey in life, there is no doubt that she will conquer every moment and live every dream. Triszh will always make Econ sparkle no matter where she is, leaving a ray of sunshine in all our lives. By Reg Reinoso
Jamoy Jampac
Vice-President for Administration, Junior Philippine Economics Society Member, Membership Committee Member, Secretariat Committee Member, Sports Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Task Force Committee Jamoy is the craziest Ecosocer I’ve met. She films herself consistently, produces a (illegal) library of music videos, posts them online, and invites/forces friends and non-friends alike to watch them. She is most spontaneous. When you go out with Jamoy, it’s best to bring with you extra clothes for the night, as only she knows where your group will end up by sunrise. She is expressive, and she wants you to know what’s on your mind. A skilled writer, she wrote regularly for Echoes in her senior year. Of all the staff writers who wrote columns, she was the only one who consistently promoted her articles. She is outrageous: the Grand Trad she organized was probably the most spectacular cross-dressing pageant the School ever saw. That sem, she was named Most Outstanding Member. She is unconventional, not only because she dresses differently and acts strangely at times, but also because she has never gone for the safe and typical. Jamoy is the craziest Ecosocer I’ve met, because in a world where everyone is expected to conform, she is unafraid to be different. By Paolo Tamase
Kester Kua
Member, Externals Committee Member, Finance Committee Member, Sports Committee At first glance, Kesterson Kua’s looks might intimidate you a little bit. He might seem a little boastful—he’s got the looks to back it up after all. But once you get to know him, there’s more to him than just a pretty face; he’s got a deep wallet too. But more than anything, he’s a good friend to have. He can make you laugh for hours with just a few lines. He’s the center of attention in just about any party. He’s loud that way. He may not look it, but Kester’s an achiever. He’s the president of the U.P. Chinese Student Association. He’s a director in the SE-RVC. He’s one of the top students in his batch. He can be anything he wants to be, and he’s chosen to become a lawyer. By Regi Li
Demet Meru
Member, Community Development Committee Member, External Affairs Committee A first impression of Demet is that he is a very quiet person. Getting to know him more, you’ll actually find that he is not that quiet at all. He is quite a cheerful person that loves to chat and laugh with friends. He has been part of CDC for more than a year and by taking part in the different activities, he has definitely shown that he belongs there. Contributed
Jholo Moreno
News Editor, Echoes Features Editor, Echoes Assistant Director, Task Force Committee Member, External Affairs Committee Member, Liaison Committee Member, Membership Committee Member, Task Force Committee Amidst all the seniors’ stress and work, Jholo has always been able to keep a smile on his face. He lightens up the mood through his jokes and stories and makes Liai feel a little bit more at ease. Though he may not be around so much, he’s there when the committee needs his support. He’s an older brother who is able to laugh with us and whose company we really enjoy. His singing skills aren’t to be forgotten either! His talent just made us love him even more. It isn’t difficult to get along with him. He will surely be missed—his committee loves him! Maybe, soon, a Rawr Lit Night would be dedicated just for him. Liai thanks him for all his input and time spent with the committee! By Mads Salazar
Inna Morillo
Member, Academic Affairs Committee Member, Special Events Committee Member, Community Development Committee Member, Task Force Committee Thinking of Inna, one probably can’t help but think of success. With everything she has proven throughout the course of her college life, she’s likely been marked by many as the one most likely to succeed. And rightly so. Of the multitude of qualities that Inna has, the most striking two are her unassuming attitude and inherent faith in her fellow students. In spite of all her accomplishments, Inna remains humble and down-to-earth. However, above all that lies her greatest quality: her innate belief in the people around her. She inspires and makes people believe that they too can become so much more than what they are now, and because everything about Inna emanates respect and credibility, one can’t help but believe it. Be it in Ecosoc, in Econ, or in U.P.—wherever Inna is, she inspires and makes things happen. By Chiara Cokieng
Reg Nario
Member, Secretariat Committee Member, Finance Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Task Force Committee If you happen to need any advice on which professor to take in Econ or on the latest in the K-pop scene, or maybe if you just want some random yet sensible conversation, Reg is the sure fix. She is pure craziness, substance, and kindness all rolled into one amazing character. Her smarts, warmth, and lightheartedness are a winning combination. When she was an applicant, she had the most passion and love for Ecosoc—she attended every single event there was, making her an outstanding applicant. She continues to share a part of herself to Ecosoc by being an active member of the Finance committee. Reg has truly been an admirable and endearing friend over the years. But what she remains and continues to be is a person who is, in every sense, outstanding. By Patrick Santos
Carole Nisperos
Member, Community Development Committee Member, Task Force Committee If she weren’t an economist, she would either be a nun or part of the military. Quite ironic isn’t it? She knows how to fire guns with all her strength yet she can inspire people with all calmness and sincerity. But one thing is for sure—wherever she may be, she always wants to help. She is a linguist who spreads love through her own language, with a helping hand and a loving heart. She studies and works as a tutor at the same time. She’s all-around and we are happy when she’s around. She is one of those privileged to have patience, especially with kids. But above all, she is a friend who cares and a friend who is loved. Leslie Octaviano
Echoes Editor-in-Chief Layout Editor, Echoes Assistant Director, Ad Hoc Committee Assistant Director, Task Force Committee Member, Membership Committee Try looking for Leslie Octaviano anywhere and you can be sure she’ll have one of the following: her eyeglasses, her Mac, or her camera. Each signifies her talent, her interests, and her passion. As the Echoes Editor-in-Chief, she always showered each issue with ideas and love until the wee hours of the day. With contagious joy, she will always say that her favorite moments as an EIC are the ones after every release, when she can see the enthusiasm in the Ecosocers perusing the fruits of groupthink and sleepless nights. As a friend in Leslie’s company, one would never be in want of interesting insights and anecdotes, or even just learning about a movie that you have to watch. We will miss a Leslieblazing confidence in every article she writes and every breathtaking landscape she captures. We will miss in Leslie a friend whose presence always made for a great time. Vice Chair, Membership Committee Director, Task Force Committee Assistant Director, Task Force Committee Member, Membership Committee Member, Liaison Committee Thank you for the smiles you’ve shared with Ecosoc!
Angelo Quintos
Member, Special Events Committee Member, Sports Committee Member, Task Force Committee Some say he is the best Econ basketball player. Some say he is one half of the entertaining section of Q & A. Some say he is one of the tallest members of Ecosoc. But to all, he is the one and only Angelo Quintos, known to most, if not all, Ecosocers as Q. Q is one of the more enjoyable mems in Ecosoc. He can fit in with every Ecosocer, and he is very approachable. Q is very sociable, and one can get to know him just by simply going to the Ecosoc tambayan, where he can be found quite often. Physically, Q is intimidating, maybe because he is very tall and looks big. It’s no surprise then that Q, like most Ecosocers, is into sports. He is not only a good basketball player, he is also an avid fan of the game. Nevertheless, Q is one of the many Ecosocers who studies hard while still knowing how to have a good time. By Mik Singson
Melanie Quintos

Maui Rabuco
Public Relations Officer Chairperson, External Affairs Committee Vice-Chairperson, External Affairs Committee Director, Ad Hoc Committee Member, External Affairs Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee Ecosoc is Maui’s second home. Despite the long commute she has to make from U.P. to her house in Rizal, she spends most of her time at the Tambayan. She is proof of what true passion and dedication for the organization is all about. Maui started out as an Externals applicant, became the vice-chair for so many semesters, and ran for External Affairs Chairperson uncontested. She was perfect for the job. She was both a leader and a friend to her members. She had this vision for the committee that she successfully fulfilled during her term. She made Externals what it is today, introducing Ecosoc to other organizations and opening its doors to inter-org partnerships. She was present at every activity and continued to be active even after her term as an Execom. Maui loves Ecosoc because it wasn’t just her home. It was her family. By Ella Parel
Mocca Raymundo Vice-Chairperson, Membership Committee Assistant Director, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Membership Committee Member, Special Events Committee Member, External Affairs Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee
Sushi Rivera
Member, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Liaison Committee Ecosoc will surely miss you!
Mocca is a person who never fails to make you smile. Every time you pass by her in the lobby outside the tambayan, she flashes that ever so joyful “Hi!” at you, which somehow forces you say “hi” back. She’s this person who, in times of stress, always sees the brighter sides of things. She always thinks of those funny side comments that make your conversations “sabaw,” yet very funny. Mocca is a girl whose hug feels like a very, very soft pillow (nothing to do with weight). In the Tambayan, she hugs you at most random moments and, suddenly, all your stress is gone. Behind this “happy” person façade is a girl who really knows how to work. She knows well how to handle time and cope up with stress. During commeets, she’s always this girl who lightens up the serious mood. She just never fails to make you happy. By Andre Sarmiento
Marianne Rosario
Chairperson, Special Events Committee Vice-Chairperson, Special Events Committee Director, Ad Hoc Committee Photo Editor, Echoes Member, Special Events Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Task Force Committee Mar…a very simple name for a very COMLPICATED (in a good way) person. She’s this person who stays in the Tambayan in front of her laptop for hours, looking busy and all, but when you approach her… PLANTS VS ZOMBIES. She may seem quite snobbish when you first see her, but once you get to know her, you will really think otherwise! While she is a woman of not too many words, she never fails to make your conversations meaningful. When she was SPEV chair, she always had this non-serious but serious attitude during all the meetings and events, which actually helped them become less grueling. By Andre Sarmiento
Nandz Roxas
Chairperson, Academic Affairs Committee Vice-Chairperson, Academic Affairs Committee Assistant-Director, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Academic Affairs Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee I have had the honor of working under Nandz for one year in ACAD, kind of like as a Robin to his Batman (if Batman were into NYC and that kind of stuff). It was during this time that I got to work with someone that I have come to learn from, and more importantly, befriend. It was during this time I got to see Nandz more completely, so I feel compelled to share what I’ve learned. We all know he’s smart. But, the Nandz I got to know wasn’t only that. He was deep, committed, and caring. How else could he stand all the crap we threw at him for two sems and never once raised his voice? How else could he stay at the tambayan late at night just to finish preparations for NYC? And how else could he have laid a foundation for our committee that every succeeding chair will try to emulate? In many ways, what we do in Acad today grew out of the foundation and vision that he set in stone. So, this is the Nandz that I got to know. The Batman of Acad. The difference is, we don’t care about Batman, but we care about Nandz, and it was, for me, an honor to have known him. By Dean Dulay
Vina Salonga
Member, Commission on Elections Member, Special Events Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee Member, Task Force Committee One half of the oldest couple in Spev, Vina Salonga brings to each person she meets her subtle seniority. Tall and thin, her quiet and kind demeanor makes her as easy to talk to as your elder sister, or that dependable lady that has been in your committee for quite a while. Her shyness hides so much of her talents and hobbies that only a few of us know. Being the creative person she is, giving Spev’s publicity that extra oomph has usually been her task. Her support for Spev is as evident as the time she’s spent in the committee and her care for Josh C. Vina will be missed as one of the most loyal and creative members Spev has had. It couldn’t have done as well without her. By Kelvin Tagnipez
Kash Salvador
Vice-Chairperson, Sports Committee Assistant Director, Ad Hoc Committee Member, External Affairs Committee Member, Liaison Committee Member, Task Force Committee Who could forget this senior whose name stands out and has a personality of its own, walks with swagger and talks in poetic humor. He’s Mr. Popular, a councilor the Student Council and being an active Ecosocer. The SE student body knows him for his genuine and bubbly personality; his jokes crack everyone up and make us wonder where he gets them. He’s street smart and knows what he wants in life. Kash would often say that in life you either do something or you don’t—you can’t be lukewarm. He inspires his fellow students and acts like their big brother. He would scold you if he caught you cutting your class. He’s Mr. Life of the Party, the guy who gets people drunk but has discipline when it comes to academics and organization responsibilities. One day Mr. Kash Salvador will make it big in the real world because, “It’s in the name!” By Noreen Apuhin
Jes Sanchez
Vice-Chairperson, Liaison Committee Member, Liaison Committee Member, Secretariat Committee Member, Task Force Committee You might be wondering who might be that senior Ecosoc member with the incredibly angelic voice during Litnight and other Ecosoc events that have song presentations. Well, that’s Jessica Ponce Sanchez. Jes gives you a feeling that you have known her for a very long time even though, in reality, you’ve known her for only a few months. She’s the type of person who would always laugh at your jokes no matter how corny they are and listen to whatever you have to say without prejudice. Jes is one of those few people who could make you feel light, happy, and giddy with just her mere presence. Her bubbly and positive personality will almost always put a smile on your face and make you look at the brighter side of things. Thank you for just simply being there Jes. We really can’t thank you enough. By Dom Garcia
Monique Sequito
Vice-Chairperson, Finance Committee Member, Secretariat Committee Member, Finance Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee 490.76 dB. That’s how Monique Sequito’s scream would measure on a decibel scale. Experts say that exposure of some kind to such a high level of loudness inevitably causes deafness. Lesson is, stay away from Monique during sportsfests and cheering events. Otherwise, she’s very amiable. Not surprisingly, despite being demure, she had made a lot of friends and perhaps even some more-than-friends during her stay in Econ. She had been through almost anything an UPSE student could experience, even havig succumbed to the wrath of some Econ professors. Nevertheless, she made her way through it all and even became Senior Batch Representative. Indeed, life was extraordinary for Monique. For a humble petit woman with a taciturn personality, she had made big waves in the lives of many SE students. Surely, Monique’s departure is one loss for Ecosoc, but the world’s gain for having another brilliant Ecosocer under its helm. By Horace Cimafranca
Ria Sibulo
Vice-Chairperson, Academic Affairs Committee Representative, Philippine Council of Economics Students Member, Academic Affairs Committee Member, Sports Committee Member, Ad Hoc Committee If you’re looking for a long and meaningful conversation in the Tambayan—about anything and everything—go straight to Ria Sibulo. Why? Ria speaks her mind. Whether it’s about politics, academics, or even the registration process, Ria will always have something to say. You may not always agree, but you will certainly listen, as her own insights are thought provoking. Ria will also respect you. She will, very often, disagree with your opinions, but she will always allow you to express them, and even entertain second thoughts. Outside of conversations, Ria is hard working and balanced. She gives a lot of time to Ecosoc and PhilCES, but doesn’t neglect her studies. She hangs out a lot with her friends, but she also gives time for a special more-than-friend. Personally, I will always remember Ria as a person you can trust. When Ria found out I would run for Echoes EIC, she promised her support—she critiqued my GPOA, gave me tips for the convoc, and reassured me whenever I had doubts about continuing the race. Talk about support! Most Ecosocers will remember Ria for her opinionated and hard working nature; I will remember her as a friend who saw in me something even I almost didn’t see. By Paolo Tamase
Pael Supangco Vice-Chairperson, Liaison Committee Director, Task Force Committee Member, Liaison Committee Member, Task Force Committee
Who the hell is Pael? You might have seen him in the Tambayan once in a while this semester. He’s the bulky, buffed up guy who enters the Tambayan with his lunch box or sometimes with his bag. He may be a bit small for a muscular guy, but he has way too much protein in his system to be taken lightly. You can see him wearing shorts and super fitted shirts with his matching semi-macho walk that can be intimidating to people who don’t know him. But, don’t be. He’s one of the friendliest persons you could talk to in Ecosoc. If you get to know him before he leaves Econ, you’ll know what I mean. Certainly very funny and “sabaw” most of the time, you can talk to this guy to lighten up your day. He’ll provide you with a second wind, a boost, and enough green jokes to get you fired up when you get home. On top of that, he’s very athletic. As an active member of the Econ basketball team for four years, he has shown his skills as an excellent player both within and outside Econ. Yet, he is not all about playing basketball, displaying his good physique, and making people laugh. Throughout his whole stay as an Ecosocer, he has contributed a lot to the Society, particularly to the Liaison Committee. He may not look like it but Pael is very smart and has a profound knowledge in leading, handling and manning events that we conducted. Pael is like no other. He is unmatched in physical strength, yet also undeniably strong in other aspects, mostly because he has a big heart. By Jorell Garcia
Mashee Sy
Member, Finance Committee Member, Academic Affairs Committee Have a blast out there!
Donna Talledo
Member, Secretariat Committee Member, Membership Committee Thank you for your services to Ecosoc!
Kate Tuason
Member, Secretariat Committee Unceasingly uplifting the spirits of those around her with her vibrant smile and personality, Kate has always been a friend to everyone. She is one of the few who consistently involves herself in Ecosoc despite all the things she has committed herself to. It is a fact that being a senior isn’t a breeze, but this never hindered her from being an Ecosocer. Kate has continuously given beyond what was needed in her committee and has showed support for events in every way she can. If there’s one thing that can be said about Kate, it is how her heart exudes genuine love for Ecosoc. Surely, she will be missed as she moves on to a new chapter in her life. By Jeanne Limgengco
Josteen Vega
President, Philippine Council for Economics Students Director, Ad Hoc Committee Member, External Affairs Committee Member, Task Force Committee Most of the time, he is Josteen. Sometimes, he is Vega. But, for others, he is Sir J. He is known for being the male Ecosocer with the longest name, or for being PhilCES President. But for many, he is considered one heck of a dude. Most applicants considered his signature as a treasure since he is not always around the tambayan. Despite the fact that he is not active in Ecosoc, he surely gave most of his time for PhilCES. And PhilCES members can attest to that. Josteen is an effective leader; he has the ability to motivate people effortlessly. Whenever he speaks in front of a crowd, everyone surely listens and is moved by his words. His words of encouragement induce people to start working and be productive. Some get intimidated by his physique and deep voice. But once you get to talk to him about any topic under the sun, he can surely make you smile and laugh. Josteen is not only respected. As what one representative put it, Josteen is someone to be adored. By Pat Garcia
CJ Villanueva
Treasurer Chairperson, Finance Committee Vice-Chairperson, Finance Committee Member, Finance Committee CJ, as everyone calls her, has been a great person and continues to be one. She served as the Finance Committee Chairperson for two semesters, and has shown everyone how great a leader she is. During events, like movie screenings and tree planting activities, she has been successfully great. But it is not only in the successes of the events that we see her leadership, it is also on how she planned, handled, executed, and shared the work with her empowered members. CJ is a strong and fearless woman. She maybe small, but she never backs off every time she has something to say, and for as long as she knows she is right, she would show courage and say it. CJ, at first, may look scary, but if you come to know her more, you’ll see how funny, lovely and friendly she is. With all these good traits of her, CJ is sure to go a long way after college. By Gilbert Bueno
Ryan Villaneuva
Member, Special Events Committee Ryan Paul Villaneuva. Ryan Paul for short, Ryan for shorter, and Ry for shortest, is one of the most distinguishable people in Econ: a star on the basketball court, an icon in the world of fashion and porma, and an expert in the art of friend making. Yes, not known to all is that Ry is one of the friendliest guys on campus! In Ecosoc, he was, time and time again, deprived of the chance to release the friendliness because of his other distinguishable quality: Ryan Paul is also the face of taray. But this image was somewhat shattered as seen through his diverse carpooling scheme (with Cheenie, Mela, among other little girls). Of the Econ big boys, he may be the one of least words. He is more of an asker than an answerer. His inquisitive nature was a great way to balance the directness of the rest of the group. Fewer words do not necessarily mean less substance. His contributions to the org, like his words, may be few, but it doesn’t make them less substantial. By Aaron Aw
Raymond Zabala
President Chairperson, Ad Hoc Committee Chairperson, Special Events Committee Vice-Chairperson, Special Events Committee Assistant Director, Task Force Member, Membership Committee The first few things that would come to your head when you describe Raymond would be tall, quiet, and a snob. But after getting to know him, you’ll realize that the only thing you had correct was him being tall. Raymond is rarely quiet. Put yourself in his car or any car ride, he’ll either be singing lines from the most random songs (usually sung out of tune), or telling you random stories of how his night went. He’s actually pretty weird. Although don’t judge his weirdness, because this guy can work. He will always be remembered as the 51st President of the Society. He’ll be remembered as the guy who decided to take on his thesis during his term as President and Ad Hoc chairperson. This guy, although weird, is pretty serious when it comes to work. Raymond is someone everyone loves. He’s more than just a tall guy; he’s a good friend and someone this Society will definitely miss. By Sel Ortiga
