Welcome to the Vikingland Band Festival parade marching championship!

Founded in 1985, the annual festival is a highlight of the summer parade marching season. Throughout the years, the event has drawn more than 85 different bands from seven states, two Canadian provinces and Norway.

Eight different bands have claimed the Grand Champion title in the Festival’s 33-year history.

This year’s event features 19 of the finest high school marching bands in the Midwest, as well as a special perfor- mance by the River City Rhythm Drum & Bugle Corps – and by our host, the Alexandria Marching Band.

More than 20,000 spectators take in the event each year, which typically features more than 2,000 performers.

Summer parade bands are at their peak in late June and they will pull out all the stops as they perform.
