TELEVISION GUIDE Wednesday June 27 to Tuesday July 3, 2012 Highlights this week The weekend is a mixed bag – probably containing a human head – for horror fans: 1. In his 2004 debut director Zack Snyder reprises George Romero’s 1978 horror classic, Dawn of the Dead (7Mate, Sunday, 9.45pm). Sarah Polley and Ving Rhames are two of the last remaining people on an Earth ravaged by flesh-eating zombies – you get that. Of course they end up in a shopping mall, loaded up with weaponry, and hope to escape to a zombiefree island, probably Fiji. Lacks the social satire of the original and so should be followed by a viewing of Shaun of the Dead. 2. Gabriel Byrne and Arnold Schwarzenegger go head-to-head in End Of Days (Go! Sunday, 9.30pm). Byrne is Satan, naturally, and Arnie is Arnie. God knows why Satan is always after a woman to have his child but there you have it.
