TELEVISION GUIDE Wednesday August 29, to Tuesday September 4, 2012 Highlights this week 1. Big it up for the ABC which is broadcasting the Paralympics from London – without ad breaks! There is coverage throughout the day from Wednesday onwards on ABC2 and highlights on ABC1 at 6pm. If you’ve seen Britain’s Channel 4 promo ‘Superhumans’, you’ll know just how amazing these athletes are, and ABC1 has been running vignettes of some of the Oz competitors. See more at www.london2012.com/ paralympics. 2. Among the better crime thrillers this week is The Client (Gem, Sunday, 8.30pm), starring Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones and based on a bestselling John Grisham novel. Sarandon was nominated for the best actress Oscar in her role as a recoveringalcoholic lawyer hired to help out a kid who has unwittingly drawn the focus of the Mob. The interaction between the boy (played by Brad Renfro) and Sarandon is excellent. Read more about the author (a former lawyer) at www.jgrisham.com.
