Chipping wood into mulch is a safe and ecological approach to getting rid of yard debris than burning. The wood product can be used for a number of garden, farming and landscaping purposes. Tree services and landscaping companies use ECHO Bear Cat chippers to do job site cleanup, producing mulch, power line clearing and easement cleaning. Choose from the economical gravity feed or hydraulic feed with the patented Smart Feed Systems. Each chipper is assembled with reversible chipping blades, which increase service intervals for blade sharpening. The chipping blades are easily accessible through a hinged cover that makes maintenance and repairs simple and effortless. What are these machines designed for? The ECHO Bear Cat chipper/shredders are designed to effectively reduce the volume of wood, leaves, and other organic material.

What are these machines designed for? The ECHO Bear Cat chipper is designed to effectively reduce the volume of wood, branches, and other organic material. The typical application for this product group is anywhere from light commercial to municipalities, rental.

When should I chip? If you donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t plan on composting the material use the chipper. Also use the chipper if the material is green and stringy. When should I shred? If you plan on using the material for compost use the shredder. Shredding is an efficient way to reduce the volume of leaves or prunings. How long will the chipper blades last? Depending on the type of wood, age and cleanliness, chipper blades will work well for between five and ten hours. Dry, dirty wood will dull the blades faster. How big of a branch will these machines chip? The ECHO Bear Cat 3" chipper/shredder will chip a branch or bundle of branches up to 3" in diameter. The ECHO Bear Cat 5: chipper/shredder will chip a branch or bundle of branches up to 5" in diameter. How many debris screens are available? There are 4 debris screens that are available. The 1.5" is the standard screen and the other 3 screens that are available as accessories are: .375", .75" and a wet debris screen. Are these screens for all chipper/shredder models? The debris screens are available for all models except three. Both the SC5540B and SC5720B have five shredder settings that are regulated by an adjustable gate, which controls output. The SC2170 has the .375" and 1.5" screen available

When should I rent instead of buying a chipper? Rent the machine if you have a very limited or unique job. If you have a more frequent need to reduce material, it maybe more cost effective to buy. What type of chippers are available? ECHO Bear Cat makes chippers with gravity or hydraulic feed, powered by an engine package or a tractor PTO. A hydraulic feed machine has a hydraulic driven feed roller to efficiently feed branches to the chipper disc. Maximizing efficiency of the machine. When should I buy a manual feed machine? If you have an infrequent need for a chipper and time is not a factor, a gravity feed machine will fit your needs well. When should I buy a hydraulic feed machine? If time or efficiency is an issue, a hydraulic feed chipper allows you to be more productive. How long will the chipper blades last? Depending on the type of wood, age and cleanliness, chipper blades will work well for between five and ten hours. Dry, dirty wood will dull the blades faster. Hydraulic feed machines will have longer blade life. How difficult is it to perform maintenance on the machine? Proper maintenance is vital. Routine maintenance, including chipper blades, will normally take only 10 minutes.
