HORROR STORIES
THE MYSTERIOUS BOAT Once, a long time ago, there was a pirate ship that sailed in the Atlantic Ocean. It had an experienced captain and a good crew. They had been out on the sea for years together, robbing and destroying every ship in their path. These men were the best pirates in the whole Atlantic, fearless and daring. Nothing could stand in their way. But all of a sudden, they disappeared in the worst way imaginable.
One day, the captain and the crew were travelling and they decided to stop to investigate an island for treasures. While walking, they saw an interesting waterfall and decided to approach it. The water was clear as crystal and cold as ice. Everything was very quiet, and none realized that there was a water spirit behind them. Once they investigated, they decided to return to the boat and continue their journey along with the spirit.
None of the crew thought much about the waterfall in the coming days. Only the captain seemed to sense that something was different. When it was day and the light was out everything was perfectly fine, but at night, while everybody was sleeping, the temperature seemed to drop drastically. The captain would lie under his blankets at night and shiver, too cold to sleep. Lying there, he thought that the shadows in the corners of the room seemed darker than usual. The whole room just felt unwelcoming. When he told this to the rest of the crew at breakfast, they just laughed at him and asked if he was afraid of his own shadow. Then, the captain laughed with them and his worries would go away for some time.
Days after, the situation was the same: the captain was thinking about his shadow until they stopped for dinner at a shore. When the monster saw that the men get off the boat, he turned on every light in the ship, so that one of the crew would check if everything was fine. A young man named Peter was the first one who noticed. He was then sent by the rest of the crew to turn them off.
After fifteen minutes, Peter had not come back and the captain sent another man to go and fetch the young man. Fifteen minutes dragged out to thirty and none of the men came back. After that, the captain would send a new man to go and find the others every five minutes or so. In the end, after there was only the captain left, the lights were still shining brightly inside the boat. The captain started walking towards the boat, cursing the crew the whole way. “Where are you?! You lazy delinquents! Is this some kind of bad joke? Well, laugh at this! Water and dry bread for everyone for the next three months!” he yelled when he finally arrived at the deck again. He expected everybody to tumble out and start to beg and apologize on their knees, but everything was silent.
Everything seemed fine, except for the fact that the crew was not there. Unexpectedly, he listened to a very strange sound that came from the basement of the boat. He saw that the light was still on and he went to check it. Going down the stairs, the light suddenly turned off. He began to sweat and his breath got heavier. “This is not funny, guys!” he said with a whimpering voice. His hands had started shaking.
He started going down the stairs again. When he got to the bottom of the stairs, everything was pitch-black. He did not see anything until he turned around. There was just enough light from the little window high on the wall to see the heads of his crew arranged next to each other on hooks, hanging in the air, beside them stood the water spirit.
It was strange. The captain had heard stories about water spirits. They were hideous creatures according to the stories. But he actually did not look so bad. He was a head shorter than the captain himself. The creature actually resembled a human except for the blue skin and the weird, long feet. It was the eyes that were scary. They were empty and black, emotionless. These eyes were the only thing the captain thought about when the spirit crouched down and attacked.
The legend tells that this tragedy has happened several times over the years, with different crews all over the world. They were all on the same boat.

Rose After Greg’s grandmother’s death, Greg was very sad thinking of the times they had spent together. His grandmother, Rose, was his only friend, and he felt so lonely when she died. Greg and his grandmother were always sitting together in his room. The chair where she used to sit was empty now. Greg’s family tried to help him, but nothing could help him get over the loss of his grandmother. One day, while he was playing alone in his bedroom, he saw a shadow of a woman, and was scared as he went downstairs to search for his mother. But nobody was in the house, so he decided to watch the TV on the sofa. It was midnight. He was still alone, but the TV was off now. He was thirsty and decided to drink some water. On his way to the kitchen he saw the same shadow again, so he stopped. “Why do I see this shadow?” he wondered. He followed the shadow to his bedroom and then it suddenly disappeared. Greg heard a loud and weird noise. “What is happening in this house? I think I’m going mad” he thought while his legs were shaking. This was definitely the worst night ever. He didn't understand anything, so he decided to calm down and go to sleep. Greg was lying in bed, but could not sleep. He had a strange feeling that somebody was watching him. Greg was looking around the dark room, and tried to see somebody. Everything was quiet. When he lay down, he could hear something knock on his bedroom door. A lot of things came to Greg’s mind, but only one was the truth: it was the spirit of his grandmother, the woman who had loved him. He thought that she was there to talk to him, to help him. The door opened slowly, and Greg saw a dark shadow come through the door. He was completely quiet as he watched the shadow walk over to the chair in the corner, the chair where his grandma always used to sit. Greg went closer to the shadow in the chair. “Grandma?” Greg whispered full of hope. He walked closer and saw a ghost-version of Rose sit in the chair. He slowly stretched his hand out to touch her. Rose got closer to him and touched his hand. Thick, grey smoke spread around him when Rose touched him. His body was forced to the ground and he was unable to move. Greg was lying on the floor breathing in the smoke while coughing and screaming in pain. The smoke had spread to his whole body. The shadow was gone, and Greg did not have control anymore. Greg walked out of his room and went down to the kitchen where his mom was washing the dishes. “Hello, honey”, she said with a sweet voice. Greg was standing in the doorway, looking angrily at her. “Are you okay?” she said worried. She turned back to the dishes while Greg continued to stare at her. He walked slowly to the drawer and pulled out a knife.
Greg went closer and closer to his mum. He tightened the grip around the knife and put his hand over her mouth to avoid screaming. Greg stabbed his mum in the back with the knife. She was shocked and tried to escape from his grip, but with no luck. His mum fell to the floor with the knife in her back. Dark, red blood was streaming out of her dead body. After killing his mum, Greg went out to look for his sister. He walked slowly up the stairs, and opened the door to her bedroom. The door was creaking while it opened. Greg was standing in the doorway, looking for his sister. The lights were off, so he could barely see anything. His sister was lying peacefully in the bed, but this was about to change. Greg walked over to her bed without a sound, and lifted her up. “What are you doing, Greg?” she whispered scared. Greg looked down at her with red, glowing eyes and did not say a word. He carried her into the bathroom and filled up the bathtub. The demon inside Greg tried to sound sweet when he said: “You are going to take a bath now”. He tried to give her a cute smile, but it turned out to be rather creepy. The bathtub was filled up, and Greg put his sister in the bathtub with her pyjamas on. His sister was about to ask him what he was doing when he pushed her head into the water. His sister was splashing water everywhere when she was moving her arms and legs, trying to get out of the water. After a few minutes, she stopped splashing, and she was just laying there motionless. Her dead body was floating around in the dirty water. Finally, he went to the garage where his father was. He was fixing something under the car and didn’t see Greg. He quickly removed the lever that was holding the car and it crushed his dad. The neighbours said that they heard a loud scream that night. Greg died a few hours later after killing himself with an axe. Before this, he killed his entire family leaving their bodies forming the word Rose. Years later nobody knows exactly what happened this night, so the story about Greg and his grandmother will remain a mystery forever.

THE REAL NIGHTMARE
I fell asleep rather early that night. It was very strange for me, but I was too tired to stay awake and finish watching the film. When I woke up, it was almost three o'clock. I went to the bathroom that was opposite my room.
I opened the door, I brought my hand in and switched on the light... I felt something strange, I didn't know what it really was, but then I realised why I had that feeling: there was blood everywhere... My uncle's body was in the bath, but there was something missing: his head.
I ran downstairs screaming, but the only reply was a total silence that made me feel more nervous than I was. There wasn't anything wrong with the living room. I thought that what I had seen upstairs was only something I had imagined. I went to the kitchen for some water that could calm me down, but then, the corpse of my aunt was hanging on the window, on her belly there was a cut where my future nephew was hanging out...
I started to cry and scream. I couldn't believe what was happening. I tried to call the police, but someone or something took my head and I fell asleep.
Was I dead? Or had I just fainted? I didn't know then and still don't know it now. Maybe, it was a nightmare, because now I feel safe although I'm in a dark cold bedroom.
Suddenly, I get up and look at the clock. It's 2 a.m. I go back to sleep. But... at three o'clock, I'm back to the same place as before. What was happening? We'll never know, because I can't get out of this loop...

“The Screaming Forest” A British family was going on vacation to Pluckley, the most haunted village in Britain. They were going to stay in a destroyed house in the village. It was in very poor condition, but they liked the exciting feeling it gave then as well as being on an adventure together. When they were arriving at the house, it was already dark. The seven children and their parents were so tired that they went directly to the first room they saw to sleep. One of the rooms had nine beds exactly, but there were many rooms to select from. The parents went to a smaller room, and the seven children went to a big room with nine beds and windows overlooking the big garden in the house. Then each and one of them fell asleep.
As mentioned, Pluckley is considered the most haunted village in Britain. The family had done their research up on the history of Pluckley and could tell you about several exciting destinations and ghosts. On their list stood “The Screaming Forest”, “St Mary’s Church”, “St Nicholas Church” and ghosts such as “The Highway Man”, “School Master” and “Red Lady”. When they had all got up the next morning, it was time to decide on which destination they were going to first. As the famous “Screaming Forest” was number one, they decided to head there. In an hour, the family was packed with food, drink and cameras and ready to walk into the forest.
They had come to the start of the forest. There was no longer any sound of birds, cars or people in general. The family started to walk across a small pathway with tall trees on both sides. They were making sure nobody fell behind and the mother and father were going as the first and last. They kept walking for minutes, quietly, so they would not miss any screams or sounds. After yet ten minutes, the mother pointed out that they had reached the heart of the forest. The trees were now around them like a big circle and it was starting to get dark. At this point, some of the children were very afraid and wanted to leave and return to the car.
Meanwhile the three oldest of them did not want to return without hearing or seeing anything. So the family decided that the mom would stay with the oldest in the forest while he dad would take the four others back to the car. Then they could meet there afterwards. So the two groups started walking in opposite directions, and soon they couldn’t see each other anymore. The group who were returning to the car didn`t hear anything strange before one point of the
pathway. It was a sound that could only be described as a loud scream. They knew it was loud, because it was coming from far away. The scream kept going, but died slowly out as it drew further away. The father knew something had happened and they were right at the end of the forest now. So they ran to the car to check on it. They saw the car with a broken windshield, flat tires and strange sounds seemed to come from inside.
The oldest brother looked at his dad and opened the trunk of the car. The father bent down and held something up in front of them. It was a big leaf with a hole in the middle of it and around the hole there was a red, old-fashioned handwriting that said: “The voices who go the deepest in the forest, never lets out. Their screams will be here forever. They all looked at each other. Now they knew what the screams must have been.

The story of Henry Roger Many years ago, in a small town, there was a large mansion, where some strange phenomena occurred and nobody dared to go in. In the mansion, many people had gone to investigate, but no one could ever leave that place. The owner contacted a professional investigator who was very good at these cases. When the man learnt what happened, he was immediately in the place, where paranormal phenomena occurred. The same night as the man came into the city, he went directly to the house to investigate. Suddenly, he started listening to some very strange sounds and the man was surprised. He went forward into the mansion and continued to hear sounds. He saw the big red silhouette of an old woman and she took her jacket and threw it to the ground for several times, making him unconscious. When the man woke up, he could not remember anything of what had happened. He was still listened to noises and was surprised. He decided to leave the mansion before something bad happened or he was killed immediately. The investigator went out of the mansion rapidly, without gathering his equipment of recording. When he arrived home, he realized that he had only taken the computer, and puzzled, looked at the recordings of the chambers. Some days later, the images were published in the press, and it was discovered that there were not any ghost. The supposed paranormal phenomena turned out to be caused by the attempt of pulling down the people in the village to prevent them from entering the mansion. In fact, the cause of everything was Henry Roger, a man of medium age who disappeared years ago.
