Landelijke Econometristendag Committee In 2020 FAECTOR has the honour to organise the National Econometricians Day (in Dutch: Landelijke Econometristendag, abbreviated as LED). The LED is the largest annual recruitment event for students studying econometrics, operations research and actuarial sciences in the Netherlands. In the upcoming edition, almost 800 students from all over the country will come together to orientate themselves on their future career and get in contact with their potential employers. As you can probably imagine, a lot of preparation is needed to

make this day happen. The responsibility for this will be given to a group of six students who will form the next LED committee. The workload will be higher than for other committees at FAECTOR. From the beginning onwards there will be weekly meetings of a couple of hours and this workload will gently increase to a fulltime month in January. Here is an overview of the different positions within the LED committee. Note that this is a short overview and that we are happy to inform you on the details in person.

Chairman ( / ): As a chairman your main tasks are keeping the general overview, preparing and leading the meetings, providing updates to the supervisory boards and arranging the speakers. Board interest Are you interested in a board year at FAECTOR? Or has the thought crossed your mind while looking at our new committees? We would like to enlighten you on some myths that surround becoming a board member. Being part of a committee does not mean that you are more or less likely to get into the board of FAECTOR. Before applying for a committee we encourage you to think about what you want and less about what you think we would like. We will not make any distinctions between active and non active members when we will receive board applications. Being in a committee for only a few months will only give you a limited experience. Keeping that in mind, we do encourage you to apply for a committee if you would like to see if being active at FAECTOR is something you like, if you would like to learn more or if you are just looking for a new challenge. On a final note if you did not think about applying for a board year at FAECTOR yet we would like to encourage you to do so. A board year is a year full with great opportunities and a lot of fun. The current board is always open to answer any questions you might have. As this is a big decision you can’t start thinking about it early enough!
