BREAKING GROUND - 60 NEW JOBS & $250 MILLION INVESTMENT KAO is building a new tertiary amine production plant at 5010 Underwood Road in Pasadena, Texas. The company broke ground in late April ’23. The production facility will meet the growing demand for sterilizing/cleaning applications but also for wide range of other industrial and consumer applications. Scheduled to begin operations in January 2025.

INDUSTRIAL PROCUREMENT FORUM – CONTRACTORS

Economic Alliance along with co-hosts BIC Alliance hosted the Industrial Procurement Forum on May 11 at the San Jacinto College – LyondellBasell CPET Building. This event gathered 200 in attendance and 10 exhibitors. Our Keynote Speaker was Corey Johnson of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. and a contractors Procurement Managers Panel consisting of Carsten Bernstiel of Kiewit, Mike McClellan of KBR, Scott Watson of PCL Construction and Stuart Folse of Cajun Industries, LLC. The panel was moderated by Jeremy Osterberger of BIC Alliance.

GRADUATION/FAREWELL TO INTERN

BRITTON SMITH We celebrated our Intern Britton Smith with a Farwell/Graduation lunch in May. A graduate from University of Houston, we are grateful for the time he spent assisting the Economic Alliance Staff. Thank you to the University of Houston - Clear Lake for their partnership.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION

We hosted our first New Member Orientation of the year on May 17th in the Board Room. We welcomed over 30 members with networking, refreshments, and a short presentation on how to get involved. Our committee chairs also shared an update on the task force that they represent. We plan to host another orientation in the fall, be on the lookout for your invitation.
