“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6: 4)
Introduction Baptism is one of the sacraments that Christ did in the bible as an example for all of his children What is a sacrament?....a ceremony or physical act that represents holiness, perfection & sacrifices of righteousness While many churches around the world practice baptism, others argue that this sacrament is no longer necessary to practice This presentation will unveil the spiritual meaning behind baptism and the importance of being baptized

Baptism is.... full submersion of a person into the water a sign of purification, and of our devotion to Christ the burial and resurrection of Christ, which is our hope the death and burial of our old life of sin and the rising again of our new life of obedience in Jesus

Baptism is NOT.... the sprinkling on of drops of water Baptism does not confer righteousness or Christianity It does not save you or prevent you from being punished by God Without obedience to the law, baptism means nothing.....merely a religious ceremony done in vain

John the baptist “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:” (Matthew 3: 11)

And then came christ Christ’s work began with his baptism by john When john the baptist saw christ he initially stated that he was not worthy to baptize his savior But christ told john that he must be baptized in order to “fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3: 13-15) Christ himself did not baptize others but his apostles did ©2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. Christ paved the way When christ came down upon this earth he paved the way and set an example for all righteous acts including baptism Christ believed in baptism because of what it signified & commanded his apostles to teach & baptize “all nations” (Matthew 28: 19) Remember what jesus said regarding baptism..... “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.” (Matthew 3: 15) Christ was baptized therefore we should be baptized...christ obeys the laws therefore we should obey sacraments such as baptism, place God at the forefront of our minds, reminding us that keeping the laws is most important ©2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. Saints never baptized Not all children of god may have the opportunity to be physically baptized They may not have a church and worship alone or be in a living situation where baptism is not an option Does this mean that they will not be saved?....the answer is no Our God is merciful and knows the individual situations of all his saints and will certainly not destroy a person who obeyed the laws but was unable to be physically baptized Spiritually speaking, they have still been baptized because the sinful ways of their old life have been buried and a new righteous way of living has emerged However, if you do have the opportunity to be physically baptized you should do so because as christ said we must “fulfill all righteousness” ©2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. We will be baptized with fire We baptize with water today in hope of the fiery baptize that we will receive during christ’s 2nd coming Water alone cannot change our mortal flesh We need the baptism of the fire and holy ghost that Christ will give in order for sin & death to be removed from our actual bodies This is a part of our hope, the gift that Christ has promised to those that obey him Š2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. In Closing We must walk in the footsteps of jesus This includes obeying the 10 commandments & testimonies and practicing sacraments of christ such as baptism But we must ALWAYS REMEMBER, baptism alone means nothing in the eyes of God It must be paired with our sincere desire to become a new person that obeys the laws of god
