House on the Rock

Built His House Upon a Rock

There once was a man who was wise throughout the land. So he built his house on a rock and not on sand.

Now when the rain came falling, came falling down, there was no need to fear for he was safe and sound.

And when the waves rose, surrounding the house, there was no need to fear for he was safe and sound.

Then the wind blew, so mighty and strong. But there was no need to fear, he was safe all along

So let this story be a lesson for all. Build your house on a rock and it will stay safe and strong.

This story helps us learn more about Jesus. Did you know that Jesus Christ is like a rock? A very, very big rock. Remember this song, my God is so big!

When you think of a rock it is strong and sturdy. No matter how hard you try you will not be able to move, push or kick a big rock out of the way. Ouch! Don’t try it. That would really hurt.

A big rock is so strong and sturdy that a person no matter their size, can stand on it, sit on it or lay on it. And that great, big rock would give them all the support they need.

Jesus is just like that rock and we are like a house. Yep! That’s right. Like a house on a rock, we have to be built on Christ.

Christ is strong and sturdy and he can support us no matter what. To support means that Christ will help us everyday.

He will teach us the 10 commandments so that we can obey and always be good. Jesus is God. God is good and we want to be just like him.

He will also make us feel better when we are sad or angry. He will protect us from bad things or bad people in the world.

He will protect us Satan. Who is that? He is a really bad man who wants to hurt you and wants you to do bad things. Remember the rain and the wind in the story? That is just like Satan.

When you obey the commandments, Christ will protect you from Satan and bad things in this world. He will help you to be good and keep you safe and sound just like the wise man that built his house upon a rock.

But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
