WHY? BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO KNOW THE MAIN REASON WE CELEBRATE PURIM. IT IS MORE THAN A DAY TO EXCHANGE GIFTS OR EAT YUMMY FOOD, ALTHOUGH FUN. •
WE KEEP IT IS AS A MEMORIAL TO THE TIME WHEN QUEEN ESTHER & MORDECAI GAIN VICTORY OVER THEIR ENEMIES

DURING PURIM, WE ALSO LOOK FORWARD TO OUR VICTORY OVER SATAN & THE GAINING OF ETERNAL LIFE, THE BEST GIFT THERE IS. LETS GET STARTED!
INTRODUCTION DO YOU WANT TO BE SAVED? I KNOW I SURE DO. AND WE HAVE A SAVIOR NAMED JESUS WHO CAN TEACH US A THING OR TWO. HE’S IN HEAVEN ABOVE, WHERE WE OUGHT TO BE. ONE DAY HE’LL BRING US UP THERE TO MEET OUR FAMILY. BUT BEFORE WE GO, THIS WE MUST DO. WE MUST LOVE JESUS AND DO WHAT HE TELL US TO DO. SO PUT YOUR THINKING CAPS ON AND LISTEN WELL. AND FOLLOW YOUR PALS ELLIE & ELI WHO HAVE SO MUCH TO TELL!
ABOUT ELLIE Ellie is 7 years old. She lives with her mom in Dallas, Texas. They have worship together everyday in their apartment. Ellie wishes she could go to church on the Sabbath but her and her mom have yet to find a church that believes in keeping the laws of God & all of the feast days. But that is ok because God is with them. Ellie’s favorite colors are purple and pink. She loves rainbows and cats. She loves to sing praises and her favorite song is “When We All Get to Heaven.” Favorite feast day, why Passover of course!
ABOUT ELI Eli is 10 years old. He lives with his mom, dad and 2 brothers in Homewood, IL They go to a small church in Chicago of about 40 members, a strong group of people that believe in the 10 commandments and recently learned about the 7th month feasts! Eli’s favorite color is red. He loves puzzles and trains. He loves to draw and is very talented. Right now he is working on drawing a lion, which represents Jesus! Favorite holy day, hmmm. I can’t wait to celebrate Trumpets!
ELLIE CAN TELL YOU ELLIE LOVES THINKING ABOUT WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE WHEN WE ARE IN HEAVEN, SAFE & SOUND. SO ELLIE TELL THE CLASS WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO KNOW.
You have to know that Jesus is God. He lives in Heaven way up above the sky with powers you can’t imagine. I’m not talking about make believe powers. These are real powers. He is better than any superhero you watch on TV!
ELLIE CAN TELL YOU Do you know that Jesus is so powerful that He made the heavens, earth, animals and people like you and me? Wow! Cool right? Now who made Jesus? And just like our parents or teachers that give us rules to obey, Jesus gives us laws that we have to obey. They are called the 10 commandments! Can you name 1 commandant and explain what it means?
ELLIE CAN TELL YOU Why do we need these 10 commandments? Tell me what you think? Well, there are so many scary things that happen in this world with a lot of really evil people that hurt not just adults but kids too. It makes me sad and scared! These bad things happen because of sin and that old nasty devil called Satan. Do you what sin is? Do you know who Satan is? That is why we need Jesus. He is our heavenly Father. He created us, He teaches us how to be good, He takes care of us and well, He loves us.
ELLIE CAN TELL YOU He loves us so very much, that long before you and I were born, He was sent to this earth and was a human being like you and me. Hmm. Do you know who sent Him to the earth? He died on a cross for us and after 3 days and 3 nights he was risen from the grave. Because of this, we have a chance to live and be saved forever! Another question, who raised Jesus from the dead?
ELI CAN TELL YOU ELI IS AMAZED AT ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS THAT JESUS DOES FOR US OUT OF LOVE. BUT HE IS ALSO SCARED OF HOW JESUS WILL PUNISH US IF HE IS ANGRY. ELI, HOW CAN WE MAKE SURE CHRIST IS NOT ANGRY WITH US?
You have to obey the 10 commandments. If you don’t, Jesus will become very angry and one day will burn you with fire until you die with the rest of the bad people in this world. I don’t know about you but I would rather pass on that.
ELI CAN TELL YOU I would rather listen to Jesus but sometimes we can be forgetful. So here are some very important things we must do so that we always remember to obey Christ.
ELI CAN TELL YOU #1 PRAISE GOD WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART. WHAT DOES PRAISE MEAN? TO SHOW GREAT LOVE, ADMIRATION, HONOR AND THANKS TO GOD. YOU CAN PRAISE GOD IN MANY WAYS. I LOVE TO PRAISE GOD THROUGH MY ART. MY DADDY PRAISES GOD BY SINGING. CAN YOU NAME 2 OTHER WAYS TO PRAISE GOD?
ELI CAN TELL YOU #2 PRAY TO GOD EVERY SINGLE DAY. PRAYER IS A WAY FOR US TO TALK TO GOD AND TO REMAIN CLOSE TO HIM. WHEN WE PRAY, WE ASK FOR FORGIVENESS, FOR PROTECTION AND LOVE, OUR BASIC NECESSITIES, FOR GOOD HEALTH AND HELP TO OBEY HIM. WE PRAY NOT JUST FOR OURSELVES BUT FOR OUR FAMILY, CHURCH MEMBERS, FRIENDS AND MAYBE PEOPLE WE DON’T KNOW WELL. MY MOMMY TAUGHT ME THAT I HAVE TO ALWAYS START MY PRAYER WITH THE LORD’S PRAYER.
ELI CAN TELL YOU #2 WHAT IS THE LORD’S PRAYER? DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING? FOR EXAMPLE, WHAT DOES “HALLOWED BE THY NAME” MEAN? OR “GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD” MEAN?
ELI CAN TELL YOU #3 YOU HAVE TO FAST. WHAT IS THAT? FASTING IS WHEN YOU DON’T DRINK OR EAT FOR A CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME. MAYBE FOR A FEW HOURS, A WHOLE DAY OR MORE! FASTING IS NOT FUN. IT MAKES YOUR TUMMY GROWEL AND YOU CAN GET A HEADACHE.
ELI CAN TELL YOU #3 MY FATHER EXPLAINED THAT FOOD & DRINK IS NOT ONLY NEEDFUL BUT IT IS ENJOYABLE. SO WHEN WE FAST IT REPRESENTS GIVING UP OUR OWN ENJOYMENT AND PLEASURE TO BE CLOSER TO GOD. THAT IS WHAT IS KNOWN AS A SACRIFICE. DO YOU KNOW A HOLY DAY WE FAST ON? NAME A PERSON IN THE BIBLE THAT FASTED?
ELI CAN TELL YOU #4 YOU HAVE TO READ & STUDY YOUR BIBLE EVERY SINGLE DAY. THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW ABOUT GOD IS TO SEEK HIM. WE OFTEN READ IN OUR CHURCH THE SCRIPTURE…”LO, I COME IN THE VOLUME OF A BOOK. WE ARE GOD’S STUDENTS AND WE ARE BEING TESTED.
ELI CAN TELL YOU #4 AT THE END OF THE TEST, WE WILL EITHER PASS OR FAIL. IF WE PASS, WE WILL GET ETERNAL LIFE. IF WE FAIL, WE WILL BURN WITH THE WORLD. THINK ABOUT SCHOOL. YOU HAVE TO STUDY IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL AND GET GOOD GRADES. WELL, WE HAVE TO STUDY THE BIBLE DAILY, SO WE UNDERSTAND HOW TO OBEY HIM AND TO PASS THE ULTIMATE TEST!!!
