TABERNACLES & INGATHERING A Lesson By: Tam Walls

Long Time Ago...

Ancient Israel celebrated The Feast of Tabernacles & Ingathering by dwelling in booths.

This feast is actually 2 holy convocations that occur at the same time and take place on the 15th day of the seventh month, Tisri, to the 22nd day of the month. The first and eighth days are Sabbaths and Holy Convocations. The Feast of Tabernacles & Ingathering is the third of three great feasts commanded to be kept by God (Leviticus 23:33-44).

Goodly Branches The children of Israel were commanded to take boughs of goodly trees to make booths to dwell in and to rejoice before God seven days. A booth is a temporary structure or dwelling place made with any material such as boughs, canvas, or boards and is used especially for shelter.

A Booth Is a Church Although we do not take boughs of trees and build booths, we understand that our church as well as other churches where the absolute truth about God is taught are spiritual booths today. This points specifically to the Feast of Tabernacles, which is also called the Feast of Booths!

The Booths Will Be a Sign In the time of the end, God will strengthen the booth churches and have them stand as a sign to the people and places of refuge where they will come to be fed, taught, and prepared for the coming of Christ.

God’s Tabernacle The Feast of Tabernacles also points to the great day when God will bring his beautiful & holy tabernacle down to the earth from heaven. How will he do this? God will cause a great earthquake and split the Mount of Olives, which is in Israel, in two! It will be a place of worship, refuge and safety for his people and will be covered by a ring of fire and clouds.

God Will Gather His Saints The Feast of Ingathering talks about the final harvest of all his saints during the last days of this earth. To harvest means to gather together.

When you think of the final harvest of God’s saints you can compare it to a very huge family reunion.

God will bring back to life the saints that had already died. All of his children will be given new hearts, minds & bodies that are free from sin & death. We will go up to heaven and meet our Father. This will be a very joyous time for us.
