The Will of the Father

THE WILL OF THE FATHER BY: EVELYN C. POINTER

INTRODUCTION Will: is a command or decree of someone in authority. There is no higher authority than the Father. God the Father, the Ancient of Days, the Most High God, our Heavenly Father, these are just some of the names that we use when we call on the name of God. Everything in the bible leads us to Christ, as he is our savior and the only way to come to the Father. But we were created according to the will of the Father. He called us by name, and he commanded Christ to create us all individually, not generally.

THE CREATION Christ did not create mankind in general, but he created individual souls according to the will of the Father. God the Father determined, according to his pleasure, and his most perfect wisdom and understanding, what period of time we would be born on this earth. It was not given to any of us born in this generation, for example, to be born during the time of David, or the time of the apostles.

THE FATHER’S PLAN We were created, and called from the beginning, for our time period. The Father also determined who our parents would be, when we would be called to the truth, what our calling would entail, and, in fact, what our individual cup of salvation would be. None of these things happened by accident. However, our entire life was not planned in advance. This impacted by our choices, good or bad.

THE HOLY SPIRIT The Father sends us the Holy Spirit to call us back to him. However, it is our choice to listen to the Holy Ghost, to recognize God and to obey his word. God gives us choices. If we make a bad choice, that is our doing, not God’s. We can choose to obey him or not. Our choices, good or bad, have consequences.

TIME & MEASURE In the hand of the Father are weights and measures. In his hand is time. He has not revealed the time of deliverance even to the Son, Mark 13:32-33. In his hand are also numbers. He has numbered his children, and numbered the wicked. He measured the earth, not only in number of years, but amount of evil. He determined for example when the iniquity of the Amorites would be full before Abraham’s seed was allowed to take over the land Genesis 15:13-16

TIME & MEASURE There is a set number that the graves of the righteous will hold. He measured time periods on this earth. He divided the earth time into seasons, like the seasons of the year. Every season has its strengths and its weaknesses. To each season is given a certain portion of his Spirit. You cannot go beyond the work that the Holy Spirit is doing in his time.

HOST OF HEAVEN The entire host of heaven obeys the will of the Father. Christ spoke often that he came to do his Father’s will. The Father commands the Holy Ghost. They all rejoice to obey him. Man is also supposed to obey the will of the Father. It is the Father’s will that we obey him and keep his commandments. The law is the Father’s law. He put the law in Christ’s hand.

BE THANKFUL I am thankful that I was not born by accident of so called nature. I am thankful that I was created with thought and love. I am thankful for the parents and family that God gave me, for my talents and my abilities, and for my calling. It is my desire like Christ to obey the will of our Heavenly Father. It is the Father’s will that his children would live and not die. It is his will that Salvation of his children and eternal life would be given through Christ.
