WATER, WATER FROM ABOVE WITH YOUR PALS ELLIE & ELI

Hey Ellie!!! Milk is so good, with cookies it’s yummy and juice is so sweet…right down to my tummy. But when throat is dry and thirst lingers on, my first choice is water. Take a sip and say “aaah.” He He. Hi my fellow friends. It’s Ellie again. I hope you liked my poem.

Drink More Water Now on a serious note, I want to talk to you about the importance of water. I know, I know. Your hear your parents, teachers and practically every adult say “drink more water. It’s good for you.” Well guess what, it’s true.

We Need Water Water is so important and necessary for us all to survive and live. Did you know that our bodies are composed of 60% water? That’s a lot of water. And you know what else, we can only survive 3 days without water. Just 3 days. So what exactly does the water do for our bodies to help us survive?

Benefits of Water Why Ellie is here to enlightened your minds. Water…. 1.Helps maintain a good blood pressure so that your heart does not have to work too hard to pump blood throughout your body. 2. Keeps your body temperature normal. I’m not too hot. Not too cold. I’m just right. 3.Cushions and lubricates your joints so you can walk, jump, boogie woogie and play with ease.

Benefits of Water Water…. 5.It protects your spinal cord. You know that long column of nerves down the center of your back? It carries messages from your brain to the rest of your body. Yep. Definitely need that. 6.Helps you digest food better, including cookies, my favorite food group! 7.Helps your kidneys work the way they should. Kidneys are awesome by the way. I mean they are really good at removing waste and extra fluid from your body so that you don’t feel blah. 8.Water also helps clean the outside of our bodies, so that we are nice and clean.

All Life Needs Water Water is not just for us. Animals need it and plants, trees and flowers need water to grow. I mean this whole earth is made up of 70% water. I mean I could go on and on but I’m not because it’s Eli your turn.

Hi Eli! I gotcha Ellie. Now if water can do so much for our bodies, imagine what it can do for us spiritually. When I say spiritual, I am talking about all things that relate to God and the bible. Water is a major symbol of the Holy Spirit because his works help us grow in faith and the truth and cleanses away our sins. Let’s start with growth.

I’ve Got a Story God often compares his children to seeds and plants and the Holy Spirit is like rain falling down on us. In fact I have the perfect story. It is called the Farmer and the Seed. .

Farmer & the Seed There once was a farmer that had a seed. To plant in the garden amongst the trees. Oh seed did shout, “hooray, hooray. Oh watch me grow, today, today.

Farmer & the Seed Not without soil the farmer replied. You will not grow or spring to life. Then give me soil dear farmer, dear farmer. And watch me grow, oh stronger and stronger.

Farmer & the Seed Not without sun the farmer replied. You will not grow or spring to life. Then call for light dear farmer, dear farmer. And watch me grow, oh stronger and stronger.

Farmer & the Seed Not without rain the farmer replied. You will not grow or spring to life. Then call for rain dear farmer, dear farmer. And watch me grow, oh stronger and stronger

Farmer & the Seed Rain falling down, down upon me. To help me take root and grow easily. Rain falling down, down upon me. To help me get nutrients that I so need.

Farmer & the Seed Rain falling down, down upon me. To help me grow tall so that all can see. Rain falling down, down upon me. To help me grow strong for the Lord to see.

Eli Explains!!! In this story , the farmer is Christ, we are the seeds and the rain is the Holy Spirit. Now in everyday life, plants need soil, sun and water. When a seed is planted into the ground, it cannot change into a plant without water. .

Eli Explains!!! In order for us, as seeds, to obtain the nutrients from the word of God, we need the Holy Spirit to fall on us like rain and to give us understanding of the commandments and how to obey Jesus.

Eli Explains!!! Now just as water cleanses, so does the Holy Spirit. He does so with the word of God. When He teaches us the fruits of the spirit for example, these are traits of Christ that are opposite of sin or the traits of the devil. The more we take on the ways of God it helps remove the sin from our lives, which is considered unclean and dirty.

Eli Explains!!! Now do you get it? Like water for our bodies, we need the Holy Spirit to survive and fully thrive in God. We need the Holy Spirit every single day so that we can one day be saved and go to heaven. Amen.
