The Career Center (TCC) served 15,284 students and alumni this academic year. TCC staff conducted 2,028 individual advising/counseling appointments with students and alumni and presented 371 professional seminars, classroom presentations, and special programs. Recruiters from 433 organizations and approximately 5,000 students participated in on-campus career fairs sponsored by TCC. 41 companies scheduled on-campus interviews. 845 students participated in the HIRED mock interview program. To better serve our students and employers, we implemented a new Career Connections job search database. 1091 new employers have been added to the Career Connections database since July 2007. Technology additions include an expanded version of Optimal Resume, which includes an online resume tutorial and electronic portfolio capabilities. The Career Center has also established an online presence in the Second Life virtual ECU campus to better serve distance education students. 92% of employers attending our career fairs rated their recruiting experience as either good or excellent. 91% of students attending our career fairs rated their experience as either good or excellent. Through class presentations, 98% of students indicated the presenter increased their understanding of career readiness skills. 99% would recommend the Career Center presentations to others. Six months after graduation, 86.7% of Career Center survey participants indicated they were employed. Another 11.4% indicated they were enrolled in a graduate or professional school.
