EDUCATION CURRENT HND GRAPHIC DESIGN WEST KENT COLLEGE I was sponsored by Turners Fine Foods to attend a part-time HND Graphic Design course at West Kent College where I’m about to enter my second year. Working with an experienced graphic designer at Turners Fine Foods, I have gained valuable experience and developed my skills further alongside my studies.

HIGHLIGHTS • Achieved 4 merits & 1 distinction in my first year • Winner of The Design Factory, a national competition run by the Design Museum, London. • Displaying my project to tutors and peers in presentations. • Developing my knowledge of photography theory, including the Golden Ratio & The Fibonacci spiral.


EXPERIENCE TURNERS FINE FOODS • £40 million turn over company • One of a team of two in the graphics department Key Highlights • Responsible for monthly newsletter sent to customers, highlighting interesting and key products. • Developed a product image library to be used for e-commerce, photographing products in set-up shots for advertising and mail-outs. • Analysing sales records to identify product trends and liaising with account managers to develop targeted content such as a coffee week mail out.

Turners Fine Foods are a wholesale distributor of catering items to the food sector. I began working in the food preparation department after completing my A-Levels in 2012. I made a good impression with management, building a strong rapport with the company before taking a gap year in 2013. I returned to the business in 2014, joining the graphics department to pursue a career in graphic design and marketing. In January 2015, my hard work ethic and desire to learn was recognised when the company offered me an apprenticeship and funding for an HND course at West Kent College.

MOO MOO BRISBANE 2013 Key Highlights • Working in a highly motivated team as a silver service waiter. • Organising VIP functions and working with the team to meet client expectations. • Promoted to Passmaster, responsible for quality control of dishes leaving the kitchen, which also involved time management to ensue tables received their dishes at the same time.

In 2013, I undertook a gap year to travel and experience diverse cultures. I loved Australia, and sought to gain further experience in the food industry. At MooMoo I learnt a huge amount about the food industry and worked efficiently with my colleagues communicating effectively to provide the best possible customer service. My experience abroad was inspirational and continues to influence my design work.

Key Highlights • Working along side experienced marketers to gain experience in the published media industry. • Undertook research and design tasks for popular magazines within the Dennis Publishing Group. • Targeted marketing at schools and colleges to gain subscriptions for magazines.

During my first year in sixth form, I took a week to gain experience in a field that I was interested in. I enjoyed working along side professional marketers and designers, drawing inspiration to pursue a career in publishing and design. I undertook research and design tasks, sat in on strategy meetings, and worked on articles for professional publications.
