Interview an elderly relative or neighbour about what life was like when they were growing up.

Question

Where did you grow up? Did you have electricity in your home as a child? Did your parents have electricity in their homes as children? Did you have a TV in your home as a child? Was it different to TVs today? How did your parents wash clothing when you were a child? How did your parents cook food when you were a child? Was life better or worse without the technology that we have today? Why?

What was the biggest change you have experienced during your lifetime? Have you noticed any big changes in people’s working lives over the years? Do you think there are more job opportunities for women now? Why or why not?
