Introduction Regardless of who we are, what we are, what we do, the truth is: We did not get where we are today from planning and knowing everything we know today before doing it. The Entrepreneur's Journey is no exception! Despite all the planning that we can do there’s only so much to factor in for the unknowns. In the end, the "GREEN BUTTON" must be engaged to really figure it all out. But why do we get so stuck in the preparation phase? Why do we wait until circumstances force us to change? Why do we hang on to a way of life that we honestly know is not working for us anymore? Today, I am a lifestyle business entrepreneur working online full time. I really do enjoy the freedom and flexibility that comes with this business model. It's growing in popularity every day as people start to realize business opportunities that never before existed without 'breaking the bank' and NOT having to be in one physical location at time. But, this is NOT where I started my entrepreneurship journey. It's been a trip of sorts literally to get where I am right now. Every Journey Has A Beginning – Make It Count In this 3-Part Blog series, journey with me and I will let you in on a candid story about Eddie Guchu (yes that’s me actually). I shall be taking you behind the scenes on my very own journey from the beginning. One day, I got tired of waiting for the right time. I got sick and tired of being sick and tired – PERIOD. The journey

flight that I was on, the 13th of February, 2013 at 2:30pm local time. - Stop Planning And Start Doing I am pre-occupied with thoughts of how things will shape up. I am back home in Nairobi after 8 years in beautiful West Coast town of Perth in Australia. The plan is to start a business, an entertainment business to be exact. I had just quit my 6-figure income job a week earlier in the resources industry. I am pretty sure the entire office thought I was crazy that Friday afternoon when I sent that ‘goodbye see you soon somewhere’ email to the entire office floor. My boss shared his thoughts in a very subtle way. “Let us know when you want to come back, Eddie”… I needed a change and it had to be drastic. I was sick and tired of thinking about quitting every day and what seemed to be an endless spiral of feelings of unfulfillment, intense business research, and positive thinking books. Every day looked the same. While at work, my mind was barely awake and all the energy I could afford was just enough to get me through a typical workday. It was an absolutely brain numbing experience keeping up the act. I knew my days were numbered when I couldn’t afford a smile or ride along on an office politics session gone wild!

I was actually good at my job as a Network Engineer laced up with all top industry certifications like Cisco earned the hard way, real hands-on training. My workday was an easy show to pull off. I showed up, I worked, I went home, I showed up I worked harder and put my hand up for extra duties in the team and I went home. What was really going on here? Was I working in Auto? Who else was doing it? Hmmm……. - I Had Finally Done It -

I pull my bags out of the carousel and notice my Sister waving as hard as she could, wearing a big smile on her face! It suddenly struck me like lightning…THIS IS THE MOMENT I had been fantasizing about for 2 solid years! It’s here and that’s all that matters now. I was ok with the fact that I hadn’t lived in Nairobi for 8 years apart from some scattered 2-4 week holidays at a time when I had time off work.

Now, I was going to let my passion for music drive me into what will BE in this next chapter of my life. Did I mention how I was sick and tired of being sick and tired? Okay, then you can probably imagine my excitement as I told my family about my new venture over dinner. I was literally on fire! Real fire-flames! The entrepreneur's journey for this new kid in the Nairobi streets was definitely in motion and as real as it could possibly be!
