The story focuses on pride, on the need to put oneself in other people’s skin and be respectful.Tired of having no friends, Cornelius Bloom decided to build himself one. Although he was just a boy, he was very good at science, especially robotics, so he set out to make a mechanical friend who would laugh at all his jokes and would always be willing to play with him without demanding anything in return. He was convinced that his classmates didn’t like him because he was so smart, smarter than all of them put together. He was wrong, at least in part. It was true that they didn’t like him, but not because he was very smart, but because he was rude, crude and lacked empathy.
Josan Hatero was born in Barcelona in 1970. He has been writing since he was a teenager, but it was not until 1996 that he published his first book of short stories: Biografía de la huida. This was followed by several works of fiction published as Josan Mosteiro in homage to his mother. He has also published several juvenile novels under a pseudonym and in 2011 he won the Young Readers’ Award for Volverán a por mí, written with Use Lahoz. He is also translator, scriptwriter and teaches creative writing classes.
Jordi Semper was born in Barcelona in 1963. He has worked as an illustrator for publishers that specialize in textbooks as well as being a graphic artist and illustrator of comics for various magazines in both Spain and France. He also holds a degree in Fine Arts but that he does not usually tell anyone.

7 STONES TO BE PICKED FROM THE BEACH IN THE MORNING. DAY AFTER DAY. 7 STONES. UNTIL... HE FINDS SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT: A CORPSE.
Aill is the name of a small Irish village where some peculiar neighbours live. Brian McNeill is the best example: he is twelve years old, has bowl-cut hair and every morning he must pick 7 stones from the beach before going to school. It has to be 7 stones. In Aill, there are fifty inhabitants and, according to our editor, it somehow looks like Goscinny’s Gaulish village. It may seem like nothing ever happens in a place like this but mysteries do happen and with very upto-date subjects such as the environment or new technologies, which will lead all of Brian’s adventures.
Beatriz Osés (Madrid, 1972) is a writer, literature teacher and journalist. In 2018 she won the edebé Children’s Literature Award for Soy una nuez and in 2020 the Barco de Vapor Award. Beatriz Osés is also the author of the successful Erik Vogler series, with eight titles published for young readers. Her work has already been translated into French, Italian, Russian, Polish, Iranian, Korean and Turkish, and adapted in Mexico and also for audiobooks and even a theatre play.
Mónica Armiño is a freelance illustrator, graduated in Fine Arts, based in Madrid. She has worked illustrating children’s stories for publishers and agencies throughout Europe and the United States. She also works for the television animation industry on different projects, including the famous animated series Pocoyó.

Lucila feels different because of the way she looks: her head is shaved, she wears lots of earrings and masculine clothes. She lives with her two brothers and her father. Her mother died and Lucila inherited her old guitar, which she has played for years but that is no longer useful. So she decides to enter into a competition for young talents granted with two thousand euros so she can buy a new guitar. But, in order to attend it, she needs a guitar and a decent dress. Searching through the internet, she finds a website that offers fairy godmothers. She laughs and sends in the form thinking it’s a joke, but the next morning, she finds Calisto in her room: Calisto is her Fairy Godfather and he’s dressed in bright pink… No kidding.
LUCILA WILL LEARN THAT NOT EVERYTHING IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

AN ENDEARING AND VERY POSITIVE FABLE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE TO LIVE AND VALUE THE MANY GOOD THINGS OF EVERYDAY LIFE.
Casildo the rooster has problems. He’s been unemployed for three years, he owes six months’ rent and the only job he’s been offered is giving singing lessons to a group of centenary turtles: the Wonderfuls. But if the turtles can’t sing, what will people say about him who used to be one of the great opera singers of the past? They are retired and very old, but their optimism is indestructible. They want to win a musical contest to give the prize to a charitable cause... Although everyone knows that turtles can’t sing, don’t they?

Anna Baquero (Barcelona, 1993) is an illustrator who lives with Greta, a sock-stealing dog. She often cycles through the city and eats surprising amounts of ice cream.
Casildo is impressed. In his years of success, he learned that, when you are offended, you should seek revenge. But that’s not how Mrs. Lennon handles herself. Very surprised, he asks her:
- Aren’t you angry, Mrs. Lennon?
-Of course I am not. What’s the use of being angry? Tell me, Mr. Casildo, what good has it done you to spend so many years being angry with the world?
Casildo remains thoughtful. Mrs. Lennon is right: you’ve spent half your life angry with the world, and it hasn’t done you any good. Her words have made such an impression on him that he feels like giving her a hug. But he doesn’t dare. Besides, it doesn’t seem easy to hug a turtle...
