WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT Practice Business Live (PB LIVE), taking place on Thursday, 25 September 2014 from 9.30am at London’s Business Design Centre, is a one-day gathering of GP partners, practice managers and experts in the field of healthcare management that promises to once again bring delegates all the useful content of Practice Business magazine as a live event. Following an extremely successful launch event in 2013, PB LIVE is returning with more of the same great content and a few added extras to make the day even more valuable to it’s delegates. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Anyone working in primary care with a management role. This means practice managers, managing GPs, practice partners, senior receptionists and senior administrative staff, as well as practice representatives on CCGs. WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT Framed like a mini-MBA, this unmissable day will leave you better informed as a practice leader and able to face the uncertainties of the future NHS with confidence. Because we are independent it means that whilst we do have associations with membership organisations, we aren’t obligated to them, and so this is an opportunity to meet people from across the breadth of England’s primary care network. It is a unique chance to spend time with people you might not normally meet. Also, because we publish a leading magazine with a strong editorial agenda, our seminar and content offering is second to none. BESPOKE YOUR DAY TO MAKE IT REALLY RELEVANT TO YOU Come and spend a day with us; we can save your practice money, further your professional development and even offer advice on how to generate revenue. Take advantage of seminars from sector specialists in QOF and CQC, patient participation, the data divide, legal issues, HR and training, as well as ICT innovations and efficiencies and much more.

As has always been our ethos with our print and online offering at Practice Business, being bang up to date and responsive to your audience, and what’s current to the sector has always been one of our strengths. Visitors will be presented with tangible information that they can take home and actually use to their advantage back at work – think of it like a mini, daylong MBA for PMs! The day is unique as it offers delegates the opportunity to select specific seminar topics, ensuring your day is filled with information and learning that will be directly relevant to you and your practice’s current requirements. If you are still undecided about whether to attend, read on, there’s no better time to sign up! SEMINAR TOPICS AND SPEAKERS? Being bang up to date and responsive to our audience and what’s current to the sector has always been one of our strengths. You can’t lead from the front if you’ve planned 12 months ahead, so exact detail on the content of the seminar sessions is still being planned, however, we can confirm the broad topics that will be covered and as with last year, they aim to mirror the key areas of practice management, to make it as relevant as it can be to your daily role. WORKSHOPS WILL FALL INTO THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:  Income generation - In this stream of seminars, experts will highlight the most lucrative QOF, AQP and enhanced services available to England’s GP practices.  Medicine for managers - providing a run down of all things clinical and topical, from a managerial perspective. This includes trends such as medicines optimisation, telehealth and coping with comorbities.  Success in practice - In this series of seminars, leading practice managers and partners will be offering bestpractice advice in the form of interactive case studies to help inspire and motivate others in a similar position.

 Commissioning in action - Involved or want to be involved with your CCG? In this category we will be offering updates and advice for any practice manager who sits on a commissioning board, or just wants to be on the ball when it comes to the future of the NHS.  Patient station - This seminar stream will give you everything you need to know about managing patient data, from information security to risk management and how best to use your patient information system.  HR and legal advice - Management and HR is a significant part of a practice manager’s role. In this seminar stream, a series of lawyers and HR experts will give their management advice on everything from redundancies to CPD.

CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) Professional development is hugely important to your own personal progression, as well as your support staff and what that can offer your practice in return. That’s why we’re ensuring the seminars and clinics offered on the day will directly help you skill-up and in turn benefit your practice. As members of CPD UK, the leading independent CPD accreditors, our event carries certified CPD status, thus offering further, independent validation and accreditation that your attendance at the one-day event will contribute to your CPD requirements. Our commitment to the day’s content being directly beneficial to your daily role is further supported by our partnerships with industry leaders such as NHS Confederation, AMSPAR and NAPC.
