Netball number ones On Thursday seven enthusiastic children from year six played an intense game of netball. In the first quarter we were behind, it was 4-0 to Brookside which was discouraging for the team and Mrs. Brown, but by the end we were up by a whopping 9-5. The netball team (Tamara, Charlotte, Leonora, Maude, Tilly, Devran and Ronan) are really excited for their next game.

A reminder that next Wednesday (5th February) is our first ever ‘Books at Bedtime’ event…

Refreshments on offer for parents (in the Hall); all monies raised will go towards our PTFA Mini-Bus Fund.

Many thanks to all of you that have responded to our Christian Values survey. If you still wish to have your say, the deadline for slips to be handed in is this Wednesday, 29th January.

On Thursday we had a visit from a group of Year 1 pupils from St John's who completed a variety of maths activities with some of the Year 6 pupils. The Year 6 pupils became mini teachers and led the children through some problem solving activities. Tilly said she found it quite difficult to explain the tasks more simply. Mrs Rood was impressed with the Year 6 coaches and said it was lovely seeing the Year 6 children interact so well with the Year 1s and guide them through the activities.

Please bring in your used crisp packets for recycling: for every 1000 packets recycled, we earn £10 for charity. Hand in your packets to the office, please. Thanks in advance!

Can you lend a hand on Tuesday 25th February (between 9am and 12pm?) We are planting the hedge for our World Garden and would love to have your help. Please bring spades, forks, trowels and gloves. Let the office know if you can lend a hand.

It has come to my attention that parking continues to be a problem. I would like to thank parents who are being patient and waiting for spaces to appear. May I also urge those parents who are blocking exits and entrances to the car park and leaving their engines idling as they wait, to consider their actions carefully – you are putting our pupils lives IN DANGER. I have contacted the police who will be monitoring the area and helping us to challenge parents whose actions are dangerous. To alleviate the traffic issues… why not consider other ways of getting to school – walking, riding bikes, scootering?
