There are opportunities for students to represent Edge Hill University against some of the best universities in the country in the British Universities and College Sports (BUCS) competition. Many of the clubs have professional coaches employed to help improve skills at training sessions and offer match day support at fixtures. This has proved successful over the last two seasons and has seen Edge Hill move up the BUCS rankings to become one of the most improved universities for sport in the country. A selection of the sports clubs and individual sports available are shown on the left but there are others.

No commitment, no pressure, just play The Activities programme offers a range of activities throughout the year for students, staff and the community. The programme has a mix of some traditional sports such as Netball, Badminton and Football and others that you may not have tried before such as Street Dance, Touch Rugby and Rush Hockey. With the idea that there is no commitment to join a team or club or even play every week, you can simply just turn up and play and have fun with your friends. Some sessions are led by instructors offering coaching tips and advice but others are just about taking part and having fun with friends. So whether you want to take part as an individual or with others as part of a team there should be something for everyone.
