Welcome I am pleased to welcome you to Edge Hill University. Today’s Open Day will give you the chance to find out about our range of courses and opportunities and look around our vibrant campus, which, with an investment of over £180m, is amongst the best in British higher education.

Advisers are available for you to find out about: Accommodation On and off campus options, how to apply. Careers Centre Where does your degree lead, volunteering and part time work, employability planning. Inclusion Team Support with a range of additional needs, such as medical conditions, visual/hearing/ mobility impairments, Aspergers, Autism, mental health and specific learning difficulties. Space is available for confidential discussions. Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Pastoral guidance, prayer, making friends and community links. STUDENT LIFE FAIR 10.00am - 3.00pm - The Hub Come and find out about the additional activities you can get involved in as part of your Edge Hill student experience. Speak to a range of advisers about opportunities that will enhance your employability as well as making you time at university as memorable as possible. Find out about: Edge Hill Students’ Union Here you can find out more about the 70 different sports clubs and societies that Edge Hill has to offer as well as volunteering, student media and large scale student events which happen each year, including the Summer Ball. In addition the Students’ Union also offers advice and represents students’ views to the University. Every student automatically becomes a member of the Students’ Union when they start university. Vibe Media VibeMedia is Edge Hill Students’ Union’s student media platform. VibeMedia offers many different opportunities for students to volunteer, and gain experience of working within a media environment. The Record Label The Label Recordings is the UK’s only not-for-profit university record label, which has been set up by the University to promote existing new music and to give students eyeing-up a career in the competitive industry some real hands-on experience. You can direct a music video, you can work in A&R, you can package a sleeve, you can organise a club night, book the band and promote it. It’s a way to become an insider and get a flavour of what all the people behind the scenes really do. The Arts Centre What’s on, student productions, discounts for students. The Arts Centre and the bar/ bistro is open to all students and has a mixed programme of events including theatre, comedy, film and open mic. Edge Hill Sport Edge Hill Sport operate all the campus sports facilities and student sport programmes with a range of ways for you to get involved. International Office Speak to a member of staff from the Study Abroad team about the exciting opportunities to study or work abroad as part of your degree. Information is also available on our new Language Centre where you can develop your language skills whether English is your first language or not. Learning Services Learning Services incorporates; Library Services, Media and ICT support, Inclusive Services and support for SpLD, Academic skills and Learning Technology Development (incorporating Blackboard). Speak to our expert staff to find out about the direction, support and guidance the Learning Services team can offer. Get help during the day

Information Points Each building in use during the Open Day will have an Information Point, staffed by friendly members of staff who can help with your programme, direct you around campus and help in the event of an emergency.

Student Guides Student Guides are easily spotted in their bright purple tabards and are happy to help with anything to make your Open Day visit run smoothly. Donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t forget to ask them about their Edge Hill experience.

Housekeeping and Emergency Procedures Fire Alarms On hearing the fire alarm leave the building by the nearest available exit and assemble as directed by staff and Student Guides. Do not return to the building until advised it is safe to do so.

Illness or Injury In case of illness or injury please go to the nearest Information Point or the Registration area. Staff will be able to arrange first aid assistance and will call for an ambulance if required. Please report any injuries to staff at Information Points or in the Registration area.

Lost Property If you lose an item of your belongings or find some lost property please speak to a member of staff at an Information Point who will help you in the first instance.

Toilets Toilets (including accessible facilities) are available in each building on campus. Please ask any member of staff or Student Guide for directions.
