Edge Hill's home is Ormskirk, a beautiful and friendly 12th century market town 25 minutes from the city centre of Liverpool and 40 minutes from Manchester - well located for students to take full advantage of all that the UK has to offer and with two international airports on our doorstep you can easily get to many European destinations in a couple of hours.
The region provides opportunities for a wide range of culture and leisure pursuits: live music, theatre, sports, dance, walking, the arts, and shopping. Visit the beautiful hillside villages in the Lake District, the friendly towns along the Irish Sea, and the traditional seaside villages in North Wales.
We have been welcoming international students to our university for many years especially during the months of July and August when we offer a range of summer programmes which give you the opportunity to both learn and experience the culture and history of the UK.
England is a popular destination, enjoyed by millions of visitors each year including thousands of international students. See the bustling cities rich in history and culture. Travel the beautiful green countryside and visit medieval towns, castles, lakes and historical sites while experiencing the cultural diversity England offers.

USST Summer programme at Edge Hill University
You will be accommodated in a single ensuite room in one of our high quality student residences on campus. In blocks of six/eight rooms, each with TV and WIFI, you will have access to a fully fitted kitchen and all cooking utensils.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided each week day, with packed lunches provided for full day excursions.
Your classes will take place each day and will be a combination of workshops, seminars both in and out of the classroom, this will help you develop your subject knowledge and your English language ability in a varied environment and amongst native English speakers. There will be a total of 15 hours delivery per week. The subject focus of the course will be Entrepeneurship and Innovation taught by our experienced and creative academic lecturing team.
During the 3 weeks at Edge Hill you will be able to take part in a range of social activities both on campus and off. We start each course with a Welcome Event where you will enjoy getting to know your fellow students and the teaching and support team who will be with you throughout the course.
Each week different activities are available for you to take part in during the evening such as quizzes, cinema trips, bowling. For each full weekend on campus 2 full day excursions are offered, along with 2 half day trips each week to various historical and cultural places of interest, for example the magnificent castle of Conwy in Wales or the Jorvik Viking Centre in York. The three week stay at our campus will be followed by a week’s sightseeing in our beautiful capital city, London.
We have campus support staff on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to offer you help and support should you need it.
At the end of your course we will hold a celebration event when you will be presented with your certificate of attendance. This is our chance to say farewell to you, and to wish you well for the future and to wish you a very enjoyable stay in London.

Content of this part of the programme will be agreed separately with EHB Solutions Ltd.

Edge Hill University is close to the thriving market town of Ormskirk which has national train and bus connections, lively nightlife and high street shops, banks and supermarkets. The town is a ten-minute walk or twominute shuttle bus journey from the campus. 4

The North West
The University has easy access to the vibrant cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Trains to the centre of Liverpool take 30 minutes. Liverpool was ranked in the top three places to visit in the world in the Rough Guide 2014. The University is a short distance from the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, the Peak District and the stunning North West coastline.
