OVERNMENT officials and leaders of the mining sector yesterday said the Philippines remains a top mineral exporter in the world with mineral deposits worth of $874 billion. During the 2nd Mining Engineers’ Con-
vention, Mines and Geoscience Bureau (MGB) Region 12 director Constancio Paye Jr said the country ranks third in the world in terms of gold exports. “We are third in the world for gold, fourth for copper, fifth for nickel, and sixth for chromite. We remain as one of the biggest exporters of minerals in the world,” Paye said dur-
