Edible Baja Arizona

Tucson, United States

EDIBLE BAJA ARIZONA was a high-quality, bi-monthly print magazine (press run of 25,000) that explored the intersections of food and culture in the Arizona/Sonora borderlands region, with a mission to subvert the industrial food system. The magazine published serious journalism, essays, and feature stories, with exceptional photography, illustration, and design. During its 27 issue run from June 2013 until December 2017, the magazine won more than three dozen awards for editorial and design excellence. Through its sustained advocacy and editorial coverage, the magazine was a catalyst in the effort to have Tucson become the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in the US. EDIBLE BAJA ARIZONA was founded by Douglas Biggers (co-founder of the TUCSON WEEKLY) and he was its Editor and Publisher. Founding Editor was Megan Kimble. Art Director was Steve McMackin. Gary Paul Nabhan was the spiritual adviser and Senior Editor. Print rules forever. Direct all inquiries to: doug@bajaarizona.com
