The Company uses two principal brands for its businessesin the United States: Ameriprise Financial and RiverSource.

It uses Ameriprise Financial as its holding company brand, as well as the name of its branded advisor network and certain of its retail products and services. The Company uses RiverSource brand for its United States asset management, annuity, and the majority of its protection products. The Company operates in five business segments: Advice & Wealth Management; Asset Management; Annuities; Protection and Corporate & Other.
