Timothy Baxter Adagio for Sax (2009) (version for guitar) for saxophone & guitar Duration: 2’47
PERFORMANCE NOTES The Adagio for Sax is a re-working of a flute piece called Lament, written in 1991. It evokes the idiom of the 18th century dance suite - a kind of Sarabande. The Lament has proven to be a successful piece, and it was suggested to me, that it might work well for saxophone. The title has been changed in the process - with apologies to Samuel Barber! I have used the original guitar part with an alternative piano version. Timothy Baxter 2010.
