The solo organ part is intended for a large, symphonic instrument with considerable impact in the mixture and reed stops. All registration instructions are indicative and must be adapted to the instrument’s capabilities.
In the last movement, excerpts from the old church hymn Victimae pascali laudes are quoted:
Victimae pascali laudes immolent Christiani. Surrexit Christus spes mea: Praecedit suos in Galilaeam. Amen. Alleluia.
The Christians praise the paschal lamb. Christ, my hope, is risen. He will go before us to Galilee. Amen. Hallelujah.
Den solistiske orgelstemme er beregnet for et stort, symfonisk instrument med betydelig gennemslagskraft i mixtur-og rørstemmerne. Alle registreringsanvisninger er vejledende og skal tilpasses instrumentets muligheder.
